RYSE - Residential Youth Services and Empowerment was one of the nonprofits that won our Be a Light LED retrofit giveaway. RYSE supports Hawai‘i’s youth to help them move beyond houselessness. We were so grateful to support their mission with this lighting giveaway, and to shine a light on the amazing work they’re doing in our community. A special thanks to Hawaii Energy Systems for installing the new lighting, which is expected to reduce RYSE’s facilities’ electric bills by 19% annually. #HawaiiEnergy #BeALightGiveALight #RYSEUp #HawaiiEnergySystems #Nonprofits #EarthMonth #EnergyEfficiency

A new government, a new opportunity, a fresh start....so long as the Labour party remain true to their word and follow up on the pledges and promises they’ve made. How good are you at fundraising follow-up? I know the elation of receiving that hard-earned major gift, that lucrative grant that sucked your energy dry, that campaign you took a risk with and it paid off. And, you’re right to celebrate that! 🎉 But, the hard work doesn’t stop there. Unless you follow up...there’s a very low likelihood you’ll repeat those cheers the next time around. I’m not just talking about delivering project impact...we all know that sometimes things don’t go exactly to plan. I’m also talking about: 🫱🏼🫲🏾 Open, honest communication with your donors 📊 Punctual reporting on use of grant funding 🎙️ Asking donors for feedback 🙏🏼 Thanking and publicising funding sources where appropriate and required 😇 Involving donors and stakeholders in your ongoing work How do you stay on the ball after a big win? #charity #fundraising #comms #change

The best way to help nonprofit Board members to promote the importance of building operating reserves is to have a simplified annual status report that clearly shows where operating reserves are currently at and what the journey has looked like over the previous 3 years - this operating reserve status report with notes will help viewers to read and understand how the organization has experience change over a 4 year period of time. The amount of operating reserves is important but it is even more important to observe and understand changes to operating reserves and how they reflect the economic and program journey of an organization - https://lnkd.in/eX33329e - #nonprofitfinancialmanagement #nonprofitboards #nonprofitoperatingreserves #nonprofitfinancialreporting
