Experience, failure, disappointments, false promises + some success or neutral outcomes matter - read here to learn why 👇 In a world where the words “expert” or “advisor” have become social media keywords - it’s hard to distinguish someone who somewhat knows … from someone who really knows! 💡1 (or 2) roles doesn’t make you an expert 💡1 book doesn’t make you a genius 💡 a few clients barely scratches the surface When interviewing or asking an “expert” their advice, change the paradigm, & instead ask them: 🤩 what will you never do again? 🤩 what assumptions never held true? 🤩 what’s are common pitfalls across industries & functions? 🤩 share a time when you’ve OWNED the outcome, budget, talent, & timeliness And pay attention to: ☕️ how long they take to answer the question (pause or no pause) ☕️ their humility in saying “where do I start” ☕️ is their answer black or white, or 10 shades of grey Experience matters! Don’t be afraid to dive in, dig deep, activate, and learn while doing (even if you get your hand slapped), cause that adds to the experience. Source of image: Ralph Diaz
Knowing what wire to cut is the Only way to a successful endeavor Sol Rashidi, MBA Amongst the plethora of technologists around, a very few are adept at practicing benefits management while engaging with the client. Meaning they aren't aware of what the outcomes will finally unravel for the client. No diligence of the benefits landscape in the project/program lifecycle adds to never-ending impasse and overruns in schedule cost and time. Hence, always a failure!!!
These questions are really helpful, Sol Rashidi, MBA, in reshaping the way we go about signaling expertise: 🤩 what will you never do again? 🤩 what assumptions never held true? 🤩 what’s are common pitfalls across industries & functions? 🤩 share a time when you’ve OWNED the outcome, budget, talent, & timeliness
I absolutely LOVE this. Resonates with me so much right now. Our industry has been hit really badly these past 2 years and the perception specialist hiring can be done to the same quality level internally is almost always inaccurate.
Well said Sol, as always 👍
Love the “Invoice”.
Or you could just use an AI agent and then go out for Ribeyes. # medium
