🍇🏆 Wine Lovers and Industry Insiders - Take note! 🌍🍷 Our latest data visualization takes you on a global tour of wine competitions, revealing where the most prestigious medals are awarded. Information about the awarded wines was taken from more than 250 of the largest Wine Competitions out of at least 600 held in the world every year. Priority was given to international competitions, while the results of national competitions were processed with lower priority. You can find the list of all wine competitions taken into the study here. Wine competitions exhibit considerable variation in the number of samples submitted and medals awarded. Following the guidelines set by the OIV - International Organisation of Vine and Wine, most competitions adhere to the recommendation that only 30% of submitted samples receive medals. Since 2020, over 431,090 medals have been awarded globally, with a significant concentration in Europe. Five tips to make the best out of the annual wine tasting event in Vancouver.

Just got out of a Zoom with organizers of The 1976 Redo (https://www.the76redo.com). First, attn vintners: Although deadline for wine submissions is officially tomorrow (06/21), you'll still be able to submit anytime before the first round of judging in mid-July. Second, if you're still wondering why this is being done: Keep in mind that the original 1976 Paris Tasting occurred when, frankly, Californians barely knew a bunghole from bâtonnage The industry has come a long way since. Many vintners have long stopped mindlessly imitating European models, despite increased appreciation. There's heightened awareness of appellations and terroirs, not to mention exponential skill level, experience and technology, although production of good and interesting wine (like any product) is a forever-and-ever process everywhere in the world. Excellent and Free Course on the Wines of the Rhone Valley offered by Napa Valley Wine Academy in conjunction with Inter-Rhone. Intermediate level done in 4 parts that does nice coverage of Cotes du Rhone AOC, CDR Named Villages, the Crus of the CDR and Other AOC's of the Rhone Valley. You are awarded a Certificate upon successful pass of the final exam at three stages. Good news is that you have unlimited attempts. Lots of info is covered, so its good that they broke it down into 4 sections. Great way to learn about this important region and a fantastic review even if you think you know it. Do you know how many CDR Villages are allowed to append their names? How many Crus North and South in the CDR? The difference between Cotes du Rhone and the Rhone Valley? What types of wines are produced in each Cru or each of the Villages with DGC? If not, you will benefit from doing this course. This was my second year at the Austin Food & Wine Festival and it’s always incredible to see the community come together to celebrate our city’s amazing food scene. Austin is mecca for foodies, and our chefs are getting the recognition they deserve with our very own Michelin Guide arriving later this month. But as our food culture grows we’re seeing real challenges in the retail market with demand still far outpacing supply. For example, a few 2nd generation restaurant spaces came available recently around South 1st and South Lamar and they were essentially leased overnight around double the rent of the previous tenant.
