𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗨𝗠 🅸🅻🅻🆄Ⓜ🅸🅽🅰🆃🅴🅳 Are you ready to transform stadium experiences into unforgettable spectacles? At LALIGA, we believe in the transformative power of optimal lighting in stadiums, and here's why you should too. #Safety and #Security is paramount in any sporting event, and proper lighting plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of spectators and athletes alike. But it doesn't stop there. The quality of the #television broadcast is also heavily influenced by stadium lighting. Poor lighting can detract from the visual experience of viewers at home, impacting the event's image and leaving a lasting impression. That's why we go above and beyond, meticulously defining lighting specifications in our "TV Regulation" document to ensure uninterrupted transmission, even in the event of a blackout. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond mere #compliance with international #standards. We strive to create an immersive visual experience by designing stadiums with #fixed camera points and a #cinematic approach to lighting. This not only enhances the broadcast quality but also sets a new standard for stadium #aesthetics. In an era of rapidly advancing technology, our designs are future-proofed, ready to meet the demands of emerging standards like #8K. Additionally, our emphasis on unified production streamlines camera management, eliminating the clutter of cables and chaos of past decades. Join us in bidding farewell to outdated stadium visuals and embracing a new era of immersive, high-quality broadcasts. Together, let's elevate stadium experiences to new heights and create unforgettable memories for spectators both in the stands and at home. The document if interested (Spanish version, sorry): https://lnkd.in/dhTCU_92 #Contact me if you need a new #lighting system coupled with a #broadcasting plan. Together, we unlock success through shared knowledge and fair play in the world of #football.

Mall developers are cutting multiplex space as footfall drops from 10% to 6-7%. OTT platforms, high ticket prices, and poor box office performance drive the change. Focus shifts to gaming, food courts, and experiential retail for better revenues. The cinema era in malls faces tough competition. #cinema #malls #entertainment #ottplatforms #retailbusiness #foodandbeverage #gamingzones

The same #weird applies to UK & European Cinema space - however, keeping cinemas open just for the sake of it will in the long term do nothing for the customer experience of cinema and will likely do more damage. It’s not just about opening the doors - the experience of cinema requires constant reinvention by way of technical & design improvement. If cinema’s limp along as discount houses and not commit to creating amazing ‘out of home’ experiential places then death will be certain. Clearly investment required to meet 21st Century consumer expectations and for that investment to come there will need to be closure of screens on a massive scale. This weekend I saw the new Universal Pictures Wicked Part 1–and wow, it was absolutely amazing! For me, watching #Wicked on the big screen wasn’t just about the songs or the lore–it was about being fully transported and immersed in the magical world of #Oz. But as I walked out of the theater, I couldn’t help but wonder: why isn’t the #moviegoingexperience itself just as #transformative? The outdated seating, popcorn-covered floors, and lack of #engagement feel so disconnected from the promise of #escapism, and #entertainment that #films often deliver. Movies transport us to extraordinary places, but theaters often fail to carry that experience beyond the screen. What if we #reimagined theaters as vehicles for engagement, where you’re not just a spectator but part of the #story. Changes like, fully themed environments that immerse you in the setting, from decor to food/drink options inspired by the film, Interactive elements like behind-the-scenes insights or audience-controlled moments like pre-or post-show activities, such as interactive quizzes or augmented reality experiences tied to the movie’s theme, could make the experience even more #memorable. And why stop at movies? Theaters could host #sports watch parties, where fans experience the #excitement of the game on the #bigscreen with stadium-like energy. Live #gaming tournaments could turn theaters into #esports arenas, bringing gamers together to compete and spectate. Virtual reality events or live broadcasts of #concerts, award shows, or even #space launches could turn theaters into #versatile #destinations for entertainment and engagement. I truly believe it’s time for theaters to #evolve into more than just places to watch movies–they should be spaces for #connection, #creativity, and, most importantly, #immersive environments that fully engage the audience. #WickedTheMovie #CinemaExperience #Innovation #ImmersiveStorytelling #ReimagineTheater AMC Theatres, Cineworld Cinemas Ltd

Always impressive when working here.
Although NBC has several impressive studios in Paris, including the primetime and daytime studios, more live content than ever originates from Stamford’s robust complement of studios. In this behind the scenes interview, NBCUniversal VP of Studio Operations Tom Popple takes SVG behind the scenes at NBC Olympics’ studios in Stamford, CT during the Paris 2024 Games. Studio 1, usually the home of Football Night in America and Golf Central, has been split to serve the end of the West Coast daytime broadcast (6–9 p.m. ET) and Live From golf coverage. Studio 2, handling USA Network’s 24/7 coverage, has three eight-hour shifts per day. Studio 3, a new state-of-the-art facility normally housing NBC’s Premier League coverage, serves Gold Zone (5 a.m.–5 p.m.), and Studio 7 is home to E! and CNBC Olympics coverage. Meanwhile, Studio 6 is dormant but is available should any issues arise with the other facilities.

There are several possible reasons for the investment, but we're placing our chips on one in particular. The Sony Pictures Entertainment acquisition of Austin, Texas-based Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and its 35 U.S. locations counts among the few real industry surprises. Days later, the industry is still surprised: There must be a strategy, but damned if anyone can be sure what it is. The Alamo reputation lies in its niche exhibition experience that combines studio programming with distinctive specialized offerings, all packaged with dining and drinking. Its theaters gross somewhere between $125 million-$150 million annually in box office. (Concessions revenue is unknown.) That represents a little more than 1.5 percent of total U.S./Canada gross, which makes it the #7 exhibitor.

This is a slide defining New York's Media & Entertainment sector in 2012. At that time, M&E in New York employed ~275k people and generated more than $80bn in revenues. One big media sector is missing and not even mentioned as a bullet point - games! At that time, it was not even, as they say, an "out-of-scope sub-sector". Now a +$200BN market. This is mainly a reminder to myself that even if the opportunity might look small(ish) in the here and now, the world is changing (hello electrical cars) cc Doug Shapiro #gamedev #gameindustry #entertainment #media

Top Cinema Chains Will Spend $2.2 Billion Over Three Years To Upgrade Theaters. As theatres invest and refresh over the next few years Premium experiences will be top of mind as this segment has shown continued growth. Adding additional Premium Large Format screens either self branded or branded like IMAX or outside the U.S. Dolby Cinemas. Immersive audio is roughly 5% of global screens and typically an ingredient to a Premium room. Dolby Atmos, DTS & availability of IAB continues to grow. HDR best in class image, high dynamic range started in Dolby Cinemas is now available outside of that program with Dolby Vision. New entrants just starting out are Barco with their Light Steering offering HDR by Barco. Direct View LED is another HDR enabler. HDR is under 0.25% global adoption and has the opportunity to expand into more premium screens.
