Interesting take, synthetic data from LLMs does comes handy to bypassing data scarcity and privacy issues. But it makes me wonder: can we really draw meaningful conclusions from synthetic data, considering it’s influenced by the model that created it? Since synthetic data essentially mirrors biases and limitations of the related model, aren’t it reinforcing existing patterns? To leverage synthetic data, we’d need to validate it against real-world data constantly. For sure it is a "starter" to uncover what has been captured on previous training, it makes sense, but could it actually lead to improved AI , how much does it need form real-world grounding? Curious to hear thoughts on how others approach this balance between synthetic and real data in AI training!
