Saving costs on #AWS can be tricky due to the complex pricing and resource management involved. AWS offers different pricing models like on-demand, reserved instances, savings plans, and spot instances, which can be confusing to navigate. Over-provisioning or underutilizing resources often leads to unnecessary expenses, so it's crucial to right-size instances and eliminate idle resources. Getting a clear view of where costs are coming from helps in pinpointing optimization opportunities and allocating costs accurately. Long-term usage agreements like Reserved Instances and Savings Plans can save money but require careful planning. Balancing these commitments with the need for flexibility is a common challenge. Automating cost controls with tools and alerts can prevent unexpected spikes and ensure continuous optimization. Larger organizations might secure better deals through negotiations with AWS reps, but this requires a good understanding of AWS pricing and your own spending patterns. In short, saving money on AWS involves a mix of technical tweaks, financial planning, and making the most of AWS’s pricing options. Struggling getting your models into production in SageMaker? You have three options: 1. Build your own internal capability consisting of Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers and MLOps/DevOps Engineers (high cost, low availability, long lead time). 2. Engage a consultancy to build an end-to-end MLOps platform from scratch (high cost, long lead time). 3. Be one of the first 20 customers to engage Codex and access an end-to-end MLOps platform that is highly customisable for $15,000... oh, and we can deploy it in hour. Interested in option 3? Reach out to me to coordinate a consultation and we can show you how it works.
Are you struggling to operationalise #machinelearning and #artificialintelligence on Amazon Web Services (AWS)? Answered Yes? Well, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is… You’re not alone!! The bad news is… Moving ML projects from concept to production is hard, with Gartner estimating 53% of PoC’s are failing to make it to production [1]. If you’re on AWS and leveraging #sagemaker you have worked out by now that being able to effectively build a production grade platform requires specialist resources and time. The complexity of SageMaker, coupled with these requirements, is creating a barrier to entry for organisations big or small who don’t have access to these resources or lack the time to wait. At Codex, we believe every organisation should have access to a production grade MLOps platform. That’s why we have invested in building a platform on SageMaker that can be deployed in hours, not months. That is why, for our first 20 customers, we are deploying this MLOps platform for $15,000. Contact Adrian Campbell for more information! [1] Costello, K., Rimol, M.. (2020, October 19). Gartner Identifies the Top Strategic Technology Trends for 2021.
