Embrace creativity with our stunning Art-inspired SMAC Tote bags! "In Gilliams’ paintings there is no attempt to fix or name the world. Rather, we find a deft eschewal of the known, a fascination with the non-secular and atemporal – the eternal and untimely – realms irreducible to any specific optic or culture. So, while the iconographic influence might stem from classical and pre-classical Italian painting, Gilliams’ image repertoire cannot be thus contained." _____ @gommaargilliams Text by Ashraf Jamal

THINK ABOUT THIS TOPIC: THE CONCEPT OF VALUES! If we assume that the reflection of the soul is like an artistic painting that reflects the artist’s language and impression of a certain subject, we would find that human souls can be distinguished according to this impression. Therefore, we can think about how to reach these beautiful features in our souls, and how to connect with the vocabulary of noble values that live within us. May we be distinguished by the beauty of their vocabulary, which allows us to connect with all sources of strength and sublimity in this world, so that we may be beacons and artistic paintings that are praised and have an impact in the world of values. Embarked on a Journey
In the idyllic region of Costa Brava, the birthplace of Salvador Dali, Spanish artist Vicente Romero embarked on a transformative journey in his artistic career. It was here, amidst the Mediterranean's captivating light and the stunning landscapes, that Romero's art underwent a profound evolution. "Spanish Light," one of Romero's most iconic works, is a testament to this pivotal period. This painting captures one of Romero's muses, draped in a soft, sheer dress, embodying the serene beauty of the Costa Brava beach. The artwork reflects a harmony of elements that were instrumental in shaping his style: the Mediterranean's luminous light, his soft pastel technique, and the allure of his models. The region's distinctive light remains one of the most recognizable and influential aspects of his work. Vincent van Gogh's painting "Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette" is one of his lesser-known works, created in 1886. This piece stands out for its unusual subject matter and dark humor, reflecting a departure from his more typical landscapes and portraits. I paint in acrylics, and whether my work is realistic or abstract (I'm drawn to both styles at different times) I am forever captivated by shape and colour - flat pattern really appeals to me, so when I am painting from life I am often drawn to the spaces between things as much as the things themselves. Each new painting is a chance to explore something new. https://lnkd.in/e-kKriBQ

My new article! https://lnkd.in/gejjvtum Abstract In this study, we discuss the relationship between the concepts of abundance, peace, and painting. After a general look at different definitions and approaches to the concept of abundance, we will choose the cultural and artistic approach and, in this context, take a brief look at the painters who used the concept of abundance together with peace. Then we will look at the style of Florescencism, invented and introduced by the contemporary painter Lida Sherafatmand, and the related paintings that have been shown in many prestigious exhibitions around the world, in the context of one of the main approaches of this style, which is to represent the concept of abundance. The abundance of fresh and bright flowers with vivid and promising colours in Lida Sharafmand’s paintings is formally and conceptually in line with one of the clauses of the Florescencism manifesto, which refers to the concept of abundance as a way to develop peace. The paintings selected and presented in this review have been examined in the same two basic analytical directions, namely form and meaning, so that the depth of the concept of abundance and its use in line with the goal of peace in these paintings can be broken down and presented to the reader.

I enjoy academic research, but unfortunately, holding down a full-time job and my love of creating visual content, thesis writing takes much longer than it should. So, I do academic research for pleasure. I've just finished writing Ut Pictura Poesis: The Humanistic Theory of Painting (its only taken me ten years). The comparison of the arts is a literary genre that developed during the Renaissance and has continued throughout the classical age. It is expressed in many forms. The first and most important involved a parallel between the arts and those of visible speech: painting and sculpture first, poetic arts the other. From this comparison, generically, we have deployed more specific shape comparisons between painting and sculpture, painting and music. The Italian word paragon, meaning "comparison" in general, is used in all language's comparison between painting and sculpture, which has led to much debate in the sixteenth century. The comparison between painting and music (analogy between sound and colour, reflections on the notion of harmony) is also present in the Renaissance and the Classical Age. She will experience a revival in the twentieth with the birth of abstraction. https://lnkd.in/e_eNP8Z4

My recent article on Art & Perception focuses on one iconic masterpiece by the Belgian Surrealist, Rene Magritte: "La Condition Humaine" (1933). The painting is an aesthetic-philosophical study of the nature of reality, the localization of thought, achieved via the artist's masterful creation of perceptual paradoxes where transparency battles with opacity, and objects occlude what they reveal. The painting is both beautiful and endlessly engaging perceptuall, aesthetically, philosophically.

Title: "Joseph Presents his Father and Brothers to Pharaoh" by Francisco Gutiérrez Cabello Explore the dynamic canvas of Francisco Gutiérrez Cabello, an illustrious Spanish painter from the 17th century, whose work often escapes mainstream recognition yet embodies the rich tapestry of the Baroque period. One of his compelling creations, "Joseph Presents his Father and Brothers to Pharaoh," exemplifies his mastery in storytelling through art. This oil painting captures a biblical narrative with profound emotion and intricate detail. The scene is set in an opulent Egyptian court where Joseph, depicted in vibrant attire, introduces his humble, awe-struck family to a regally poised Pharaoh. Gutiérrez Cabello's use of vivid colors and dramatic lighting accentuates the contrast between the familial group and the grandeur of the Pharaoh's court, highlighting themes of reunion and redemption. The artist’s technique is a testament to the Baroque style, characterized by its dramatic use of light, rich color palette, and dynamic composition. These elements are meticulously balanced to not only convey the story but also evoke a deep emotional response from the viewer. While Gutiérrez Cabello’s works were celebrated during his lifetime, his name was overshadowed by contemporaries such as Velazquez. This led to controversies concerning attribution of several of his paintings, complicating the understanding of his oeuvre. Despite these challenges, the distinctive clarity and emotional depth of his art continue to resonate, allowing us to appreciate his contributions to the Baroque movement. This painting not only serves as a visual delight but also as a historical document that offers insights into the cultural and religious sensibilities of the era. #FranciscoGutiérrezCabello #BaroqueArt #17thCenturyArt #SpanishArtists #ArtHistorian #OilPainting #BiblicalArt #ArtisticVision #ArtGallery #MuseumCollection #HistoricalArt #ArtLover #ArtCollector #FineArts #VisualArt #EuropeanArt #ArtEducation #ArtisticExpression #CulturalHeritage #ArtisticHeritage #Masterpiece #ArtInspiration #ArtStudy #ClassicArt #Pharaoh #Joseph #ArtHistory #ReligiousArt

Finding Caravaggio: Establishing the Provenance for Lost Paintings France's chateaux still hide many secrets. What follows when a masterpiece is rediscovered? Eric Turquin describes himself as an art historian who works for the art market. He heads a team at Cabinet Turquin that describes its vocation as to reveal the meaning and value of a painting. Their knowledge covers the range of Art History from the Old Masters to the 19th century. To do this they utilise technical scientific analysis, imaging and documentation, fitting this information together to do everything possible to attribute a name and a history, as well as a value to a painting and enable their clients to meet their legal obligations. They describe the History of art as being as a human science rather than an exact science, which has uncertainties and subjectivity as the attribution of a work of art is not objective but the result of a consensus. Cabinet Turquin’s work has uncovered the lost histories behind, among others, a Caravaggio, a Cimabue, two paintings by Pietro Lorenzetti and a Chardin. The presentation will place the technical analysis conservators undertake within this context. This will also be Icon’s first talk from France, which is very welcome and Eric will be explaining how France’s history has played a part in the survival and discovery of these hidden masterpieces. Book your tickets to hear Eric in conversation with Clare Finn ACR. https://buff.ly/3W7flTl
