Forgiveness is a vital part of our Christian walk. God has forgiven every one of us. He calls us to forgive others in the same way. We forgive those who have abandoned, hurt, and slandered us. But I think there’s a form of forgiveness we as Christians too often overlook; forgiveness of self. Check out the full blog!

Forgiveness is actually more freeing for you than for the other person. Forgiveness: Forgiveness is the gift we give ourselves, releasing the chains of resentment and finding freedom in letting go. It's the act of choosing peace over bitterness, of extending compassion to ourselves and others, and of healing the wounds of the past. Through embracing forgiveness, I've discovered the transformative power of grace, of finding closure and resolution, and of reclaiming my power from past hurts. Let us choose forgiveness as a path to healing and liberation, for it is through forgiveness that we find true peace. #Forgiveness #ReleaseAndHeal

"FORGIVE AND MOVE ON" It happens to the best of us: someone has hurt you in some way and you have to chart that long, complicated path toward forgiveness. Getting to the point of forgiveness can be a journey in itself; one that is rewarding once you can honestly say to the person, and yourself, that you have forgiven him or her for the offense that person did to you. With forgiveness, we are instructed by Jesus in scripture that “if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” (Matt. 6:14, NKJV). He reiterated the importance of forgiveness again when Peter asked how many times to forgive a brother in Christ. “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven” (Matt. 18:22, NKJV). But the real question is…now what? What do you do now that you have forgiven the person but don’t want a repeat of history with him or her? By forgiveness, does that mean you are only setting yourself up to be hurt by this person again, to be his or her doormat? It is possible to move forward after forgiving someone, while still protecting yourself from getting hurt again. It takes an evaluation of the relationship, setting boundaries, and finding true and lasting peace. Amen and To God Be The Glory...

The Process of Forgiveness 1. Understand that forgiveness isn’t about forgetting or excusing the abuse. 2. Realize it's an act of obedience towards God. 3. Ask God for the grace to forgive. 4. Remember it's not a feeling; it's a journey. 5. Trust in God's truth and let feelings catch up. 6. Learn to differentiate between forgiveness and trust. 7. Seek wisdom and support from a counselor, pastor, or friend. *Content by Frida Umuhoza
