🐝 Yesterday We Celebrated World Bee Day: SKIDATA’s Beekeeping Achievements 🌍 As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we're buzzing with excitement to share an update on our very own bee colonies at our headquarters. In 2019, we embarked on a journey into the world of beekeeping right here at the SKIDATA site. Since then, our two thriving beehives have not only supported local biodiversity but also produced approximately 25 kg of blossom honey last year. This sweet success was shared with our team through our sandwich spread campaign, combining deliciousness with awareness about the importance of bees. 🐝 Did you know? - A single bee colony can consist of up to 50,000 bees and produce over 20 kg of honey in a good year. - Bees play a crucial role in pollinating the plants that feed the planet, yet they face numerous threats that reduce their numbers. Let's all take a moment to appreciate these hardworking pollinators who play such a vital role in our ecosystem. We're proud to contribute to their preservation and share the benefits of their hard work with our community. Join us in celebrating the unsung heroes of our environment. Here's to many more years of beekeeping and broader environmental stewardship! 🌼 #BeeTheChange #WorldBeeDay #Sustainability #CSR ------------------------------------------ [ 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 ] if you like this post [ 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 ] if you have a suggestion or additional insight [ 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 ] if you are in a rush

Happy World Bee Day! Bees, along with butterflies, bats, and hummingbirds, tirelessly pollinate our flowering plants, ensuring the growth of nearly 90% of the world's wild flowering plant species and over 75% of our food crops. They are the unsung heroes behind the fruits and vegetables we enjoy every day. However, bees and other pollinators are facing increasing threats from human activities. That's why it's crucial to raise awareness about their importance and the challenges they encounter. At PSS we are committed to protecting these vital pollinators and preserving biodiversity. As part of our environmental commitment, we've taken steps to support bee populations. We’ve invested in multiple biodiversity projects to support bees and other insects, fostering their habitats, and promoting pollination. By nurturing these buzzing friends, we not only contribute to food security but also take significant strides towards sustainable development. Together, let's pledge to protect our pollinators and safeguard the future of our planet. #WorldBeeDay #SaveTheBees #SustainableDevelopment

🐝 Happy World Bee Day! At Bolschare, we have always understood that agriculture can and should be a pillar of environmental sustainability. Our concern for biodiversity led us to survey, catalogue and develop a recovery plan for our estates. One of our fundamental aims has been to restore the bee population. Not only do we seek the obvious economic return that pollination and quality products from our bees, but we also focus our efforts on creating an environment conducive to their well-being. We grow indigenous flora that is beneficial to bees and develop trial fields to find the best plant and soil composition in all our inter-rows. Recently, we have even started to cultivate our own ridges to improve soil biodiversity, optimise water use and ensure bee welfare. We need to remember the essential role that bees and other pollinators play in maintaining the health of people and the planet. Without bees, we would lose much of our food, flora and fauna. Each action aims to achieve a healthy, sustainable and profitable habitat, demonstrating that conservation and agriculture can go hand in hand. Let's work together to protect our pollinators and celebrate their invaluable contribution! #Bolschare #WorldBeeDay #SaveTheBees #BeeConservation #Pollinators #BeeFriendly #Honeybees #ProtectOurPollinators

🌼 Happy World Bee Day! 🐝🌼 At PepNet, we’re buzzing🎉 Bees play a crucial role in our ecosystem, and as a carbon-neutral business, we recognise their immense contribution to sustainable development. Let’s dive into why bees are so essential: Food Security: Did you know that nearly two-thirds of Australia’s agricultural production benefits from bee pollination? Bees help us grow the crops we eat and feed our farm animals. Without them, our food security would be at risk. 🍎🌽 Biodiversity: Australia is home to around 2,000 species of native bees, each co-evolving with our unique native flora. Some plant species can only be pollinated by specific bee species. If a bee species disappears, so does the plant it pollinates. Biodiversity relies on bees! 🌺🌿 Ecosystem Health: Bees are keystone species that preserve ecosystem health. Their essential pollination services support plant diversity, which, in turn, regulates climate, purifies air and water, builds soil, and recycles nutrients. Without bees, our ecosystems would be at risk. 🌎🌸 World Bee Day isn’t just about proclaiming—it’s about taking action! Let’s protect our pollinators and ensure a sweeter future for all. 🌟 Visit https://lnkd.in/dzGksvm for more info. #WorldBeeDay #SaveTheBees #BeeAware

Golden Grove Plantations, nestled in the verdant landscapes of Australia, is not just the oldest tea tree farm in the country but also a sanctuary for one of its most iconic inhabitants: the koala. This unique synergy between agriculture and wildlife conservation forms the heart of Golden Grove’s ethos. Tea tree, scientifically known as *Melaleuca alternifolia*, has a storied history dating back centuries. Indigenous Australians were the first to recognize its medicinal properties, using the leaves to treat cuts, burns, and infections through poultices and infusions. The tea tree oil, distilled from the leaves, is a powerful antiseptic, renowned worldwide for its antimicrobial properties. It's a staple in aromatherapy, skincare, and holistic health, valued not just for its efficacy but also for its minimal side effects. Golden Grove’s commitment to sustainable farming has always gone hand in hand with environmental stewardship. In the late 20th century, the team launched an initiative to establish a koala bear reserve within their farm. This initiative aims to provide a safe haven for koalas, whose populations are threatened by habitat destruction, disease, and climate change. By integrating eucalyptus trees (a koala’s main food source) and preserving natural habitats, Golden Grove offers these marsupials a refuge, while promoting biodiversity and ecological balance. The plantation's innovative approach—blending traditional tea tree farming with koala conservation—serves as a model for agro-environmental initiatives globally. It underscores the possibility of harmonious coexistence between commercial agriculture and wildlife conservation, showcasing how responsible practices can lead to a sustainable future for both industry and nature. #koala #australia #goldcoast #teatreeoil #essentialoil #cosmetics #skincare #aromatherapy #sustainable #animalfriendly

Not Every Beekeeper is a Bee Lover 🐝 Throughout my journey in beekeeping, I’ve learned something profound: not every beekeeper is a bee lover. Beekeeping is more than managing hives or harvesting honey; it’s about respecting and understanding the intricate world of bees. Unfortunately, not everyone who keeps bees shares this perspective. Some see beekeeping as purely transactional , focused on honey production or revenue. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with earning from bees, it saddens me to see practices that overlook their welfare or the delicate balance they bring to our ecosystems. To truly love bees means to: 🌿 Advocate for sustainable practices. 🌼 Protect pollinators beyond the hives. 🐝 Nurture their health and habitats, not just their products. I believe it’s our responsibility to go beyond the hive and cultivate awareness about conservation and the vital role bees play in biodiversity. Beekeeping should connect us to nature, not disconnect us from its beauty. #Beekeeping #BeeConservation #pollinators #Sustainability #LessonsLearned #research #Nature #MotherEarth
