🐉Practical Artistry - A Thought🐉
Images and stories are a powerful thing - perhaps more powerful than we think💥
We often categorize art as impractical, thinking it's just something to look at or listen to👀👂
Art functions as the seed 🌱 of feelings, how fast it will manifest depends on how subtle or direct it is ⚡️
Like the film Inception, even when awake, an idea planted by art can grow and transform into motivation in our unconscious mind 🔥
When an image or a story captures our minds and hearts it is one of the most powerful things in the world 💥🔥💥
Do not underestimate the artist, the storyteller 🦋 ✒️
Do you think art is practical?

I agree that Art 🖼️ isn’t just visual. It’s a feeling… it’s an influence that you can’t shake off. Our relationship with each other is an art. How we artfully communicate and influence one another is a true testament of the beauty and power of Art 🌚🌹🌝.

Art is timeless. ♾️
Proust called art "translation."
He believed everyone has art inside of themselves. 🎨
Art is about finding meaning in our experiences and transforming those experiences into something expressive and beautiful.
It requires courage to put a tangible version of them out there for all to see, share, and, yes, judge.
Art's purpose is to elicit an emotional response.
By accessing memories triggered by something we see, hear, feel, or smell.
"Unintentional" memories that are based on emotion.
And allow us to see things in a new way.
Imagination: making connections.
Works of art are an extension of our feelings.
So, when experiencing art, remember it's a window into another person’s view of the world. 🪟
Maybe even a better view of our own.
"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance."
~Aristotle~

In 1600 the philosopher Nicolás Malebranche warned that:
"The things we see are in our soul" are not in things.
Art is a compound structure of mimetic nature, imitating what is outside, in nature - in painting it is visible - in voice work too and no matter what theme the voice actor is interpreting: A poem , a narration, a trailer, a commercial; Either you get art or you get nonsense, that is,
"Character is inevitable to express"
For this reason, today more than ever, it is necessary to raise the reflections and topics on the art of the voice because what is common is not that everyone has a voice and can "do it" but that not everyone has their own aesthetic instinct and whose intelligence It harmonizes its entire atmosphere: the inner voice, the voice of words and the innocence that responds to a soul that cannot hurt or be hurt, an art that does not seek to impress but rather expresses the beautiful.
The voice acting artist does not work with the sound of the voice, works with the inner voice of the texts and her/his own, which is the part that moves the listener; The Excellence in the polymatia of knowledge is summoned in this advertising piece for ¨Jameson¨ where art is an exaltation of all the ethereal bodies of people who do not know each other as images but as relationships between spirits.
The human being has a budgeted voice to survive but its true purpose is to elevate, which brings its closer to its own spirit, here there is no space for artificial intelligence here.

It's like you're walking backward.
I think creativity is the after effects of misery but misery isn't the sole reason to it. Tragedy is not the mother of creativity. Sadness fuels creativity, so they say (to some extent, that's true).
But if you're building up artificial personas to a point you can't distinguish from your real self; that is also a bit edgy and flashy, then that can be a wild move.
However, I think it's not a *fake* persona, even if you say they are forced or manipulated to bring out another inside of them.
Sometimes, it helps people to explore different versions of themselves to bring out their artsy side. After all, it's something they think of themselves too.
Unfortunately, relating to edgy and gloomy characters has been quite the norm in the pop culture scene in recent years. It's not necessarily bad unless you make it your whole personality and cannot separate 'who you are' from 'who you think you are.'
And the ones who are faking it to be loud about their artistic dreams can't go to such lengths to fake a persona.
Everyone has multiple personas, and whenever you are creating something, it isn't just a single persona that feeds your hunger.
Personas are substantial to our growth, and we should make sure they aren't just there to feed our egos, masks, and pride.
Personas are nothing but a mix of personal, cultural, social, economic, and geographical experiences we share and can lead us on the same path or even diverge us from it.
People relate to glum characters all the time, yet they feel like they are the only ones feeling that way. That's not true.
How wise do you need to be to think that others can also wear a happy mask in the same way you do?
Okay, I digress a lot.
So, my take was that people can't force themselves to create a persona, but they can be swayed by some miserable characters, philosophies, and literary enthusiasts.
Even if they do push themselves to look, feel, or think a certain way, that won't last long. There needs to be something that's already alive inside them that supports them to wear a persona like that.
Actors, Corn-men (because why the hell do we call them artists? lmao), and Charlatans are exceptions to this subject, of course.
Personas are made out of your skin, bones, and heart, but at the end of the day, they exist independently in your mind.
The question is: Are we moving towards a zeitgeist of heartbroken people who lament and obstruct the idea of happiness even before it falls upon them?
I have always believed that being sad is the most effortless thing someone can do to themselves. Being sad and remaining in that headspace takes very little resolve, a lot of comfort, and freedom from any kind of fight you need to put up with to save yourself.
It also doesn't ask you to be a bolder version of yourself. It's a fair deal, isn't it?

Tragedy is sexy.
Misery is a great ‘Instagram’ filter.
Why is the art more alluring when the artist is broken inside? Why is the writing more moving when the author wants to die, or kill, or both?
I get the human intrigue.
But then I wonder - are creatives then forced to create personas? Edgy, non-conforming, loud, pierced, tattooed, outlandish? Bukowski-sque?
(Damn - did I fall for it, too?)
I see so many young creatives create a persona. Heartbroken, lamenting, sad - and I wonder if they’re maybe trying to emulate an emptiness they feel a artist should have.
This is one opinion where I’m happy to be wrong. But it irks me.
Take your broken heart and turn it into art, they say.
Are we all pretending?

In one of our recent lectures, Miss Ahona B. introduced us to an artist on ArtStation, @insist, and I was completely blown away. His work, especially the series with a veiled red-cloth figure, has this eerie, mysterious quality that pulls you in. The way he plays with light and shadow is just incredible—it makes each piece feel alive and full of meaning. I often find myself staring at his art for hours, getting lost in the details, and each time, I notice something new.
What I love most is how his art tells a story without words. It makes me think, wonder, and try to figure out what’s happening. It’s inspiring and pushes me to think about how I can bring that same depth and mystery into my own work. I’d love for my art to give people that same feeling of curiosity and wonder.
If you’re into storytelling or just love detailed, atmospheric art, I highly recommend checking out his work: @insist on ArtStation.

Can a powerful story come from a flawed storyteller?
Art in its truest form tells stories, it ignites our emotions, and imaginations while shaping our understanding.
But what happens when the storyteller’s actions do not align with their story’s message?
This is when separating art from the artist becomes crucial, appreciating the art independent of its creator’s personal flaws. Empowering us to discover the power within the narrative.
A controversial director can still spark compassion and social change through his film. A thought-provoking book by a troublesome and complicated author can still offer perspective and escapism to the reader.
Art can educate, inspire, entertain or offer companionship, are we ready to abandon all of it citing the problematic actions of the artist? Artists are humans, and humans are meant to be flawed. History is littered with brilliant minds who were flawed, take the genius Picasso for instance.
The compartmentalization is not about condoning the artist’s action or supporting them. It is about understanding that the power of art transcends its creator. By valuing art for its merit, we celebrate creativity taking into account the complexities of human nature.
This separation empowers critical thinking and allows us to experience, learn and grow from both the artwork and the world it is inspired from.

💥 NO MORE DEBATE ABOUT BEAUTIFUL OR UGLY ART! 👑
📚 Let's clarify one point right away:
ART IS COMMUNICATION, AN EXPRESSION OF ITS TIME AND, WHEN VALID, ANTICIPATES FUTURE REFLECTIONS. ⏳
💥 How can one understand and appreciate it even if one is not an expert?
The secret is CURIOSITY and then I advise you to:
-Enjoy the work: let yourself be moved by the colours, the shapes, the messages it conveys. ❤️
- Ask yourself questions: What does it represent? What techniques were used? Why did the artist create this work? 🎭
-Dialogue with the work: What does it arouse in you? What emotions does it provoke in you? 💌
Don't be afraid not to understand...
