Live Gigs Are Getting Easier for Both Artists & Venues with This New AmptUp's Feature AmptUp, an all-in-one booking platform, has just released a new Payouts calculator. The goal is to improve transparency, provide a better event management, and make booking processes easier for indie artists and venues who often need a more precise documentation and information sharing during live performances and gigs. So the talks on payment arrangements will now be upfront thanks to consolidating booking-related tasks and providing a centralised repository for documents and event data. I mean, when it comes to festivals obsession with trying to build loyal* customers, we’re really just talking about customer retention (basically, keeping hold of a customer year after year). And also then thinking these loyal customers will become brand advocates for your festival, and so will say nice things helping to spread the word, and so doing the job of bringing new customers in. Kinda sounds logical; you can grow by keeping more and more of your current customers (loyalty), and by getting these customers to bring in new ones (acquisition). Sounds a cheap way of doing both jobs too, right? Why wouldn’t you just follow this approach? Well, just think about how risky it is relying on a tiny audience for your continued success. Each ‘loyal’ customer could move away, get married/divorced, have kids, lose their job, or simply decide to do something else instead - like go on a holiday or attend another festival that they are also ‘loyal’ too. Basically, their circumstances could change, and there’d be nothing your comms/advertising could do to help you to overcome that. Now, I’m not saying that festival brands don’t grow when they improve their loyalty levels. But FAR MORE growth comes from gains in new customer acquisition then it does from improved loyalty levels. And thanks to decades of real-world research and evidence (marketing science), we know loyalty levels increase when sales acquisition increases - and that’s because PEOPLE ARE NATURALLY LOYAL! (as long as your festival does the job people wanted from it, well enough). Therefore, if your festival is experiencing growth, it’s because you are gaining more new customers than expected. But if your customer acquisition levels are lower than expected, well then your festival is going to be in decline. And the last but probably most important thing to say, is that the customers to go after to really fuel your growth are light buyers - people that have never brought from you and who rarely buy a ticket to a festival. This, as marketing science has proven is ALWAYS where growth comes from. As hard as it can be to accept! The real world works in crazy ways. And trying to go against it, well, rarely ever works. Yeah, it’s easier to talk to the customers who already know and like your festival. But to grow, you need to prioritise talking to customers who don’t already know and like you. And there’s a hell of a lot more of these, who could then NATURALLY become some of your loyal customers :-) Cheers, Tref *Increasing purchase frequency is another form of loyalty. But it’s pretty hard to get customers to buy more from you, if you’re a once a year event. And yeah, cross-selling is another one; merch, VIP upgrades, add-ons etc. But that’s not going to truly fuel growth. #Festivals #FestivalMarketing #Events #EventMarketing #EventProfs

🚀 Project Highlight: Document Automation for Northern Nights Festival 🎉 I'm thrilled to share a recent process improvement project we completed for the Northern Nights Music Festival, where we successfully automated the creation of disclosures! 📝✨ Objective: The goal was to streamline the document creation process for hundreds of personnel to help run the 3 day festival. Problem: Manually drafting each document was a time-consuming task, diverting valuable resources from other high-priority activities. Work Output: We developed a custom Google Apps Script integrated with Google Sheets and Google Docs. This solution automatically transfers data from a Google Spreadsheet to a Google Doc template, generating disclosures for each individual within minutes. Results: ⏳ Streamlined and reduced document creation time from hours to minutes 💼 Freed up significant time and resources for the festival team 📈 Enhanced efficiency, allowing the team to focus on delivering an exceptional festival experience This project showcases how automation can streamline operational processes for higher throughput, driving efficiency and enabling teams to concentrate on what truly matters. 🙌 A big thank you to the Northern Nights Festival team for trusting us with this important task! #Automation #ProductManagement #GoogleAppsScript #BusinessOperations #ProcessImprovement #NorthernNightsFestival #ProductivityBoost Photo credit: Northern Nights Festival
