📢 Six in ten NHS dental patients would consider paying for private dental care to get better access, according to new data from the annual Denplan (part of Simplyhealth) Oral Health Survey. The report also found that a third of people worry about the cost of visiting a dentist, with those who had health cover less likely to worry about the cost, and more likely to go regularly (87% of those with health cover went every two years compared to 69% of without cover). Our low-cost Health Plans are available for individuals, and for companies who want to support their employees. They allow people to claim back money spent on dental care, so they can stay well and out of pain, reducing the number of sick days taken for oral health issues. 30 successful years in supporting dentists and 20 in aesthetics - we leave no stone unturned to support your business development to achieve YOUR version of success
During a conversion from NHS dentistry to private practice we often motivate our teams with rewards for converting patients to membership plans. It’s a fantastic short-term strategy to boost morale and engagement. But here’s the kicker – what’s the benefit of these rewards if your fee setting for services isn’t aligned with the long-term sustainability of your business? Here’s the reality check we need: Rewarding your team is only part of the equation. The other, equally crucial part is ensuring that our membership fees and offering are structured smartly. They must not only cover costs but also support the growth and sustainability of our practices. Without this balance, we risk giving out bonuses for efforts that, ultimately, might not contribute to our business’s health. So, before we dive into incentive schemes, let’s take a step back: Have we thoroughly analysed your fee setting? Does it reflect the true value of your services? Are you ensuring a sustainable model that benefits both your team and your practice in the long run? Let’s not just work harder but smarter. It’s time to align your reward systems with a solid, sustainable financial strategy. Share your strategies, challenges, We are here to serve you. #thejaynesprosonmethod #privatepractice #nhsdentistry #privatedentistry

Dedicated to championing the well-being of individuals affected by oral, head, and neck cancer. We aim to bridge the gap between medical and oral dental treatments through awareness, education, and support initiatives.
The list of connections between oral health and systemic health is remarkable. For head and neck cancer patients, these connections are particularly significant as they often require specialized dental care for years after cancer treatment. Access to comprehensive coverage, such as through legislation like H1094, is crucial for ensuring these patients receive the necessary care to alleviate conditions exacerbated by cancer treatments, such as cavities, tooth loss, and periodontal disease. Additionally, access to medical records is essential for optimizing treatment outcomes, especially for patients who have undergone radiation therapy to the mouth. #DentalcareisHealthCare#H1094

Dentistry has been always taught and practiced in silo. The picture truly captures the current scenario. Convergence of oral health with general health should start from including it in primary medical care.

Good article highlighting oral health importance for overall health. One more thing, I would like to suggest a change in attitude in us Dental Surgeons, to focus more on preventive aspects of oral healthcare and less on restorative treatments.

Access to affordable dental care can be challenging in rural or low-income areas. Because there aren't enough dental specialists in these areas, patients must travel long distances or wait on long waiting lists for treatment. This is especially difficult for those who are already facing financial difficulties. Limited transportation options and the higher cost of dental services impede access to necessary care, resulting in untreated dental and long-term health problems. Mobile dental clinics provide direct care to underserved communities and can help close the gap. Telemedicine offers an additional option, allowing patients to consult with professionals from a distance. Furthermore, government-sponsored programs that provide subsidies or free dental care can make treatments more affordable for those in need. #AffordableDentalCare##DentalAccess##Telemedicine##HealthcareForAll #RuralHealthcare
