#Procurement leaders often face a variety of challenges when it comes to effective #contract #management. These pain points can disrupt #operations, cause financial inefficiencies, and lead to #compliance risks. Let's dive into the most common hurdles procurement professionals encounter and how they can tackle them. 🔹 1. Lack of Visibility: Without a centralized system, tracking contract details and statuses can be a nightmare. This often leads to missed deadlines, overlooked obligations, and potential financial losses. It's crucial to have a single source of truth where all contract information is easily accessible. 🔹 2. Contract Compliance When it comes to compliance, our contract management system concentrates on pricing compliance. We ensure that you pay according to your contracts, providing procurement leaders with confidence in accurate payments and better financial control. 🔹 3. Manual Processes: Relying on manual processes for contract creation, approval, and tracking is time-consuming and error-prone. This can delay procurement cycles and increase the likelihood of mistakes. Implementing automated workflows can streamline these processes, saving time and reducing errors. 🔹 4. Inefficient Negotiations: Negotiating terms and conditions without sufficient data can put procurement leaders at a disadvantage. They need insights into historical performance, market trends, and supplier benchmarks to negotiate effectively. Data-driven negotiation strategies can lead to better outcomes and stronger supplier relationships. 👉🏼 Addressing these pain points requires a strategic approach and the right technology. THE procurement KPI. If you have more than 3 KPI’s, you are not doing yourself a favor. I would actually argue that you should have a single KPI and that this KPI changes based on the needs of your business. Have you heard of the theory of constraints where it is always one single factor that limits your speed / ability to reach your goal faster? Take that constrain away and the whole machine will run faster. It’s a single constraint. In my last 2 client meetings, we concluded that the single best KPI for their procurement team was this: % of spend under management / contract. I LOVE this KPI as it shows you the reach of your procurement team but I can tell you that most CPO’s are not able to tell their number……maybe it’s time for some solid procurement technology to share some wisdom on how procurement is impacting your business? Anyway, if you were king for a day and had to choose a single KPI for your business for procurement, what would it be? Savings? Supplier enabled sales? Thanks to share your wisdom. #simple #KPI #procurement

Yes! This! With all of the dashboard tools we now have access to, it's so often that supply chain teams lack focus. When I do my Supply Chain 360 interviews, I ask what metrics the team is tracking. Only once have I received back that there are three clear metrics that matter and what they are. Other than that, I usually get a smattering of answers with some overlap between people/teams but a complete lack of cohesion on what's truly important.
