First impressions are often everything. I remember learning years ago from a recruiting expert that every interviewer decides yay or nay on a candidate in the first five minutes - and then spends the rest of the interview justifying that initial judgement. It's no different with customers. They'll judge you harshest in the beginning, simply because they are at the peak of excitement, and missing those initial expectations will govern the remainder of the relationship, and can hang over it like a dark cloud.
