NACS fell over Prime Day on Amazon… while our Retail team is selling Cheers to c-stores here our eComm team generated $180k in Amazon revenue! 📈🍾🥂 As Cheers scales up from startup to emerging brand, I think one of my favorite parts are these “divide and conquer” moments. It’s a magical thing when a business has multiple teams/departments and they’re all firing on all cylinders. While Sam, Cole, and I are here in Las Vegas landing the largest convenience stores in the country… 💸 the HQ team is doing $100k days on Amazon… 📦 the warehouse/fulfillment center is prepping both eComm orders and retailer shipments… 🎥 the global team is cutting up videos for social media and responding to customers… 🙏 and Anjalie Rajapaksa is helping us all stay focused and organized! When you’re growing like this, some days it’s more chaos than well oiled machine. But it’s clear, we’re moving closer to a well-oiled machine each quarter than we are to chaos. I believe we’ll look back on these growth years and the wins, long days, etc. as the “good ol’ days.” 🥰

And while Amazon lost market share of e-grocery in 2023… Theyre not a company to bet against. In fact, they’ve unleashed the dogs of war. Here’s what they’re doing to win the battle for grocery delivery: -> Roll-out of more Amazon Fresh locations. (They reached 52 last month.) -> Stocking popular Amazon and Whole Foods items at Amazon Fresh FC’s. -> Converting key Whole Foods locations to Amazon micro FC’s. -> Partnering with Weis Markets to list their inventory on Amazon.com. -> Adding curbside pickup as an option for Whole Foods Amazon listings. But here’s what most people are missing: How does all of this help Amazon.com win in e-grocery? Amazon.com becomes 𝘵𝘩𝘦 e-grocery platform. Not Walmart.com or Instacart or DoorDash. My money is on delivery. Before joining Spreetail, I knew Amazon was competitive, but after being really in it for a couple of months, all I can say is.... geez. Seeing how we successfully navigate day-to-day, hour-to-hour the competition on pricing, promotions, advertising, and winning the Buy Box, among many other Amazon-specific challenges, has really opened my eyes to the struggles and opportunities brands have here. As an American based brand, to stay in competition with other brands you need to constantly grow and improve, and there are many layers of complexity that come with that, especially as other countries are increasingly dominating the space. It's energizing working at a company where we are building REAL solutions to problems like cross-marketplace shipping and fast fulfillment, optimized product listings and content at scale, efficient reverse logistics, and dynamic pricing. Complex problems and fierce competition sideline WAY too many great brands that should be winning on Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. Getting these brands back in the game and winning is something I’m excited to share.
