Product Update! Klaus Schulte and Merlijn Buit have been adding new features to the brand new #KPI product including #tableaupulse : 1️⃣ Define custom hierarchies with categorical data sets. Superstore in a KPI tree? Here you go! And no data prep needed! (see post of Klaus Schulte for example) 2️⃣ Switch seamlessly between tree and grid layouts (more layout options in the making)! It's just a click! 3️⃣ Sort metrics by name and value – in the tree as well as in the grid!   Stay tuned for further updates. There's still a lot more to come! This project was an incredible learning experience that involved transforming and cleaning CSV data from Kaggle, which contained sales data of an e-commerce store, and then visualizing it in an interactive dashboard. 🛠️ Key steps in the process: Data transformation and cleaning Building and modeling sales data in Power BI Creating an engaging and informative dashboard 🎥 I also made a video showcasing the working prototype. I've seen dashboards loading in more than 2 minutes. Would you seriously wait that long? Don't let it happen. Let me explain: As a Dashboard Developer, you must ensure that your dashboards operate properly. When dashboards start to fail, frustration comes in and users : - Feel betrayed - Question your skills - Lose confidence in the tool - Return to their old methods (shadow IT) - Disengage, leading to failure to adopt the tool It is everyone's responsibility to avoid dashboard being excessively slow. Focus on this : - Keep things simple. - Prioritize performance. - From design to delivery. - Test your dashboard early. - Avoid building dashboard monsters. I always aim for a maximum waiting time of 7 seconds for the initial loading time. And 4 for filter response time. But as always, it depends on data volume, user habits...
