The sudden closure of Heritage Bank left me with more than just uncertainty—it was a profound moment of introspection. Yet, in the midst of processing the abrupt end of my journey there, I’m filled with deep gratitude for the opportunities, experiences, and connections that Heritage Bank afforded me. Over my 21-year tenure at Saxo Bank, I've encountered numerous challenges, navigated significant transformations, witnessed remarkable growth, and been inspired by the collective motivation of all employees drive to position Saxo Bank as the leading multi-asset platform(s), offering the most competitive pricing and top-tier client service. With a client base exceeding 1.1 million and assets totalling over 100 billion euros, along with a recent S&P upgrade to A-, it has been a rewarding and enlightening journey, always infused with a sense of enjoyment. Life surely is too short not to have fun while working. Having traversed through some key areas of the company during my 21-year journey, I am now presented with the opportunity to play a key role in elevating our institutional wholesale business to new heights. The notion of being relegated to a "face for radio" is a thing of the past, as I am empowered to leverage my extensive Saxo knowledge to drive sales for our Institutional business segment. Our objective is clear: to establish ourselves as the preferred and trusted provider for banks, brokers, independent asset managers, and advisors seeking brokerage/custody, exceptional client experience, cutting-edge trading technology, and efficient trading operations. As someone who started here straight out of college, I entered the corporate world of Finance and Investment Banking with limited awareness of its complexities and challenges. The past 2 years have been transformative, offering me invaluable experiences, skills, and relationships. While it is bittersweet to part ways with such a pivotal part of my life, I am excited about the new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Throughout my tenure, I had the distinct privilege of working across two exceptional teams, each presenting unique challenges that honed my expertise and expanded my skill set. Managing a range of complex financial products—including Fixed Income, Derivatives, Collateral Management (cash and securities), FX Cash, FX Spot, FX Options and FX Forwards—required a deep understanding of market dynamics, risk management, and regulatory requirements. These experiences significantly refined my technical abilities and strategic thinking. Additionally, my involvement with the Deutsche Bank Sports Committee has been a highlight of my time here. Organizing a diverse array of events—from competitive tournaments to wellness programs—allowed me to blend my passion for sports with leadership and event planning. This role was not just about orchestrating activities but about fostering a sense of community and connection within the organization. Leaving Deutsche Bank is a decision made with much reflection, yet I am invigorated by the prospect of new challenges and opportunities. The knowledge, experiences, and relationships I’ve cultivated here will undoubtedly serve as a strong foundation as I embark on this next phase of my career. 🎉 Exciting announcement ! 🎉 I just completed JPMorganChase's Investment Banking on Forage ! In the simulation : • I Identified an ideal M&A target for a client based on an assessment of their strategic and financial criteria. • I Constructed a DCF model to calculate the valuation of the M&A target and adjusted the model to account for a competitor bid and supply chain interruption. • I Created a 2-pager for the client containing a company profile and summary of the auction process. It's been a journey of acquiring 3 valuable skills : - Financial data interpretation - Analytical mindset - Critical thinking This certification symbolizes not just a milestone but a commitment to continous learning and professionnal development. Excited to leverage these new skills in my futur job.
