𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 Have you ever wondered why those cool little cheat codes appear in your favorite games? You know, the ones that grant you limitless access to your preferred weapon or make you an unbeatable god? It sounds fascinating, doesn't it, like discovering a hidden menu at your preferred restaurant? Let's explore the world of game production and find out why these digital Easter eggs are there. It's a common misconception that cheat codes are only free gestures from developers. They serve a much deeper purpose. Imagine creating a challenging gaming environment with challenging enemies, intricate puzzles, and a compelling story. That is a huge task, am I right? Here's where using cheat codes comes into play. For developers, these are simply shortcuts that let them test various game systems rapidly without having to start from scratch. That's not all, Cheat codes are also a fun way to reward dedicated players. Finding a hidden code is thrilling and gives a sense of success similar to unlocking a secret. There are benefits for both creators and players. So, remember to appreciate the effort and creativity that went into creating a cheat code the next time you come across one. It is, after all, it's a small token of gratitude from the developers to their loyal fanbase. Want to know more about the psychology behind game design? 🚀 Game Dev Update! 🚀 Exciting news on my latest project: the main menu, credits, and core gameplay features are officially in place! Most of the essential information is now set, and the game’s framework is solidly taking shape. It’s starting to feel like a real, playable experience, and I couldn’t be more excited to see it come together! Biggest challenge? Documenting everything. Let’s just say, writing code and writing notes don’t quite bring the same thrill. But hey, we’re getting there—one line at a time! Stay tuned for more updates as we polish things up. Thanks for following along on this journey! 👉 Curious about the game? Drop a comment, and let’s chat! #GameDev #IndieDev #GameDesign #CodingLife #IndieGame #Gamers #GameDevelopment #DevLife

It is very common to not like the game you are making. Hell, you might even start hating it, especially when you've been working on it alone for a long time. This is a feeling many indie game devs experience, and I occasionally have it myself with Sky Harvest. 😅 However, when I post about it on social media, these amazing players make me feel like I am creating something worth waking up for every day! So, if you are in self-doubt, please don't close your project. Instead, post about it on social media. Talk about it with players, and you might get lucky and hear something like this. 🤞 Here are a few useful subreddits that I go to when I want to share about my game: ➡️ r/SoloDevelopment/ ➡️ r/indiegames/ ➡️ r/IndieDev/ ➡️ r/IndieGaming/ ➡️ r/Unity3D/ Please comment if there's any other subreddit you would like to recommend for game dev related stuff! 😊 YT - https://lnkd.in/gyFzpDu7 Demo on Steam - https://lnkd.in/d8zJCtnC Join Discord - https://lnkd.in/gRmgRjKW

🎮 Exciting Announcement! 🎮 I'm thrilled to share that I've developed a new First Person View (POV) game called Chill-Chase! Inspired by the intense Red Light, Green Light game from Squid Game, I've created this using HTML, CSS, and pure JavaScript. Here are some highlights of the game: 1.🏃♂️ Objective: Reach the finish line before the 1-minute timer runs out. ⏰ 2.🎵 The Twist: At the finish line stands a doll. When she turns her back, music starts playing 🎶 – this is your cue to run! 🏃♂️ When the music stops randomly, the doll turns around, and you must freeze. ❄️ If you move while the doll is watching, it's game over! 💀 3.🔄 Features: .Respawn feature to keep the fun going! ♻️ .A back button for easy navigation. 🔙 4.🎧 Immersive Audio: Enjoy different sound effects for running, 👟 breathing, 😤 and gunshots 🔫 to enhance the gaming experience. 5.📊 Score Tracking: The game shows your highest score in meters 📏 and your survival time in seconds ⏱️. 🔴 Rule: Stay still when the doll is observing you, or you will die! ☠️ It's been an exciting journey to bring this game to life. Your support and feedback would mean the world to me! 🌟 #GameDevelopment #ChillChase #SquidGame #HTML #CSS #JavaScript #IndiaGameDev #growth #learning #growing

🎲 Number Guessing Game - A Fun Command-Line Game: Dive into the world of interactive command-line gaming with my latest creation - the Number Guessing Game! Let's explore its exciting features together: 👋 Personalized Experience: The game starts by greeting the player with a warm welcome message, addressing them by name, thanks to the interactive input feature powered by Inquirer.js. 🔢 Gameplay Mechanics: Players are challenged to guess a randomly generated number between 1 and 6 within five attempts. Each guess is validated to ensure it's a valid number. No cheating allowed! 🏆 Winning Moment: If the player guesses the correct number within the given attempts, they are rewarded with a congratulatory message, celebrating their victory. 😢 Facing the Odds: If the player exhausts all attempts without guessing the correct number, they receive a sympathetic message acknowledging their efforts and revealing the correct number. 👨💻 Developer's Touch: As the mastermind behind this game, I've added a personal touch by signing off with my name, "BILAL WALEED". 🌟 Key Learnings: Enhanced proficiency in building interactive command-line applications using Node.js and Inquirer.js. Strengthened understanding of JavaScript's asynchronous programming model and error handling techniques. 🚀 Experience the Game: Want to put your guessing skills to the test? Why do you might need senior/veteran people to sanity-check your game? 🧙🏻♂️ 🧙🏻♀️ When we started our company, we wrote articles to help indie, like this one: https://lnkd.in/e2tVijJz 🏃🏻♀️ While its target is clearly very young/junior game dev, it also highlights some issues we find way too often in professional settings. - Not working with metrics - Weak competitors analysis - Not UX-focused enough Often, studios, depending on their history and key members, tend to be more tech-centric or art-centric. From there, they will produce complex systems/optimisation or mesmerising art, and lose focus on what the player is actually going through. How is the tutorial? Too short? Too long? Too wordy? Confusing? How are the mechanics understood? How responsive the controls are? It is often little things, that can make someone hooked on a game, so take a step back, and if needed, ask an external fresh new eye to look at your creation. Let’s make great games together! 🙌🏻

Hello LinkedIn! Week #37 post is here! For those who haven't seen my last few posts. My New Year's resolution is to lean more into the solo development lifestyle and post weekly updates on my gaming projects here with pictures and/or videos. Why am I doing this? A few reasons (in no particular order). The first reason is to show my passion for game development. The second reason is I hope to inspire people with an interest in game development to start and a few other reasons include showing what game dev is like for us solo / indie developers, and stepping out of my comfort zone by posting on LinkedIn more. This week, I FINISHED THE GAME by getting the crosshair and crosshair color save features to work!!!!! The only thing I want to do is add an anonymous mode so that I can record gameplay for the trailer and change the music so it's all not copyright and royalty-free (I'll of course give credit in the credits section). Next up, is reaching out to a few friends and having them be the first to officially test my game, and get feedback on it. After that, I will be reaching out to a few communities that I am in to playtest, gather feedback, and wait for Steam to approve everything, then it is launch time!!! I am going to visit family this week, so my Sunday update may not be as completed as in previous weeks. I would say this game almost matches my vision. The only thing that would be missing is the kill feed displaying who tagged who, and 2 different game modes (TDM and FFA). Maybe in the future, as an update, I'll add a TDM game mode! I hope to continue this series throughout this year, as well as teach people about game dev. If you made it this far down, thank you for taking the time to read all of my posts. Consider following if you'd like to see weekly updates or want to see what I'll do next! Week 37/52 #solodev #gamedev #unrealengine #ue5 #ommg
