When you see the Brian API integrated into a new hackathon project. 😊 ❓What can you do with the #AskBrian API? ⚙️ Anyone can create their own knowledge base (or use the available ones) and interact with it through our API. Integrate it on a chatbot or website or build completely new applications! 📚 Among the ones available for everyone, there is our "Public Knowledge Base," which has a very good overview of the entire web3 ecosystem (projects, chains, etc.). You can try it on the Brian App!

We won our first award. And $2,500! Our app Rakun Talk won 2nd place in the RevenueCat Ship-a-ton hackathon. This isn't any award. It's a design award by San Francisco based RevenueCat in a hackathon with over 400 submissions globally. We are beyond excited about this. Here's what the team at RevenueCat has to say about Rakun Talk: 'Rakun Talk is an iOS app designed to help neurodivergent people who have issues voicing their needs due to being non-verbal or auditory processing challenges. The app gives users a set or predefined cards, or custom built cards, to help order food, ask for a quiet table, or even get the correct medicine at the pharmacy. The intuitive UI makes it easy for others to respond with a simple positive or negative reaction.' (read more on Revenue Cat's blog in the comments) To celebrate this we'd like to give you a 50% discount on the Rakun Talk premium subscription. That's 6 months for free on your 1 year plan. (LINK TO CLAIM DISCOUNT IN COMMENTS) Thank you so much team RevenueCat for awarding us. Let's unmask, and make the world more inclusive, Piotr Rakun

After countless energy drinks, 400 error codes, and 4 hours of sleep, I’m thrilled to share that I won my first collegiate hackathon, placing 1st at Purdue’s Hello World Hackathon! 🚀 Our project, FactCheckr, is a browser extension designed to combat misinformation – especially with the upcoming election. By using YouTube’s autogenerated captions and Google’s Fact Check API, FactCheckr monitors content on YouTube videos and live streams, flagging potentially misleading statements with quick pop-ups that let users know if a claim might be inaccurate. In addition, we built a standalone web app where users can input any query, enabling a deeper dive into information using DuckDuckGo’s API for web scraping, paired with the LLaMA model for even more thorough fact-checking. Whether through the browser extension or the web app, FactCheckr empowers users to navigate the digital world with greater transparency and confidence. A huge thank you to the Hello World organizers and staff for an unforgettable experience, and most importantly, to my amazing teammate Ethan Lee – couldn’t have done it without you! Here’s to fighting misinformation and building a more informed world! 🚀 Thrilled to Announce Our Hackathon Win! I’m excited to share that my team - Fadero Oyindamola, Bolaji Lawanson, and I won the MFH YA Hackathon 2024 🎉! Over three days (October 16-18), we built a responsive events management web app for myFather's House, and I’m honored to say that we will be working with the church to enhance the application and incorporate it into their website. The web app includes: ✅ Admin Features: Create events with rich text descriptions, images, dates, and locations. ✅ Member Registration: Seamless event sign-ups, with features to track past and upcoming events. ✅ Security & Usability: Password encryption, HTML sanitization, and accessibility features. ✅ Deployed on AWS with MongoDB Atlas for scalability. ✅ Bonus: A calendar view for a clear monthly overview of events, plus a polished interface I designed in Figma. 📽 Check out the demo video here: https://jolaajayi.com Participating in this hackathon was a rewarding experience, allowing us to grow as developers, collaborate effectively, and directly contribute to our community. With the new skills and insights I’ve gained, I’ll also be revamping my portfolio website to better showcase my projects and journey so stay tuned for updates! #hackathon #softwaredevelopment #community #webdevelopment

I wrote a short article demonstrating how to use Blazor render fragments to create reusable UI components: https://lnkd.in/gpX6m-H4 This was my first live test of ThunderIsland, a blog engine I developed in Blazor WASM and ASP.NET. Let me know if you encounter any issues with the app. Also, feel free to reply with any other topics you'd like me to write up a short article about.

Had a lot of fun over the weekend at #DevFest! This was my first time attending the event or any meetup/event in Orlando and I can't wait to attend the next one! It was great getting to meet everyone and I really enjoyed the sessions I attended! Kevin Moore had a great talk on Flutter vs Kotlin Multiplatform, even though I only have apps developed with SwiftUI I have been looking into getting one of my apps on the Android devices so this talk helped me answer some questions on which platform to go with! Judith Rohatiner MIS motivated me with her talk on an introduction to Angular CLI. I've always wanted to get better at my CLI skills and her talk not only helped give me some tips but also motivated me to work on improving my workflow today during work! Andy Lech talk was titled "The Secret to Mobile is API Design, App Architecture, and Data Handling" and similar to Judith's talk, working with API's is something I'm working on more and Andy sparked some great conversation on handling data! Javier Carrion talked about a Flutter application he built during a hackathon. His talk was interesting to hear about Flutter and Firebase integration along with what he accomplished during a hackathon. Hearing about his experience and how impactful the hackathons have been gives me the motivation to look into attending one soon!! Michael Rosario gave my favorite talk of the day in a workshop called "Learn how to build and deploy a LangChain app on Cloud Run". I haven't worked with #Gemini yet so it was great seeing how it can be used and given a sample project to poke around with and explore! This conference focused on AI.......no surprise as there seem to be a lot of subjects lately, however, what made this topic different in a good way, was the focus on ethical AI. It was refreshing to have the focus on ways that we can use AI to better impact us and use it as an ethical tool rather than focusing on the fear of AI. Looking forward to attending the next one and going to more meetups!!

This past weekend was an absolute blast at HackMIT! The energy was electrifying, and coding amidst a sea of passionate developers was incredibly inspiring. It was amazing meeting Justus and Oskar who casually flew in from Germany and Madhura from the Fetch.ai team. In 24 hours, Sahil and I worked on BeatBrew, our solution for dynamically creating music tailored to your mood. By connecting to your wearable device (Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, etc.), and leveraging TerraAPI to stream health data, we can craft unique songs based on how you're feeling in real-time. 🔧How We Built It: Authentication: Clerk Dashboard UI: Convex Custom Song Generation: Suno AI Health Data Streaming: Terra API UI Components: ShadCN UI Library Framework: Next.js Prompt Generation: OpenAI Data Storage: Firebase 🚀 What’s Next for BeatBrew: Implement live health streamlines Integrate with Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music for mood-based playlists Explore more nuanced health data (sleep patterns, etc.) Enhance song personalization based on user preferences Consider adding a journaling feature for deeper personalization Check out our project on GitHub: https://lnkd.in/eH4DveTM Looking forward to the next hackathon!
