How to Regain Your Driver’s License After Incarceration in Louisiana? If you've been incarcerated and need to reinstate your driver's license, here’s a quick guide to get you back on the road. Check Your License Status: Verify your license’s status with the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) to understand if it’s suspended or expired. Clear Any Suspensions: Pay any outstanding fines or fees. For some, reduced fees may be available, especially if penalties accrued during incarceration. Meet Reinstatement Requirements: Depending on your case, this could include paying fees, providing SR-22 insurance, or completing classes (e.g., defensive driving or alcohol safety). Gather Documentation: Bring proof of identity, residence, and your Social Security Number to the OMV. Visit the OMV: Once all conditions are met, head to the OMV to reinstate or renew your license. Fascinating and insightful (plus a bit daunting) content - excellent observations, Bronwyn Herbertson! Based on the feedback from this workshop, we will be looking into running another session for those who missed out. #NDISworkshop #NDIStraining #NDISdirector
Did you know prison penalties for NDIS company directors have increased? It's a tough reality, but being a director means facing these crucial facts and compliance requirements head-on. In our recent workshop on NDIS Director Responsibilities, our associate Bronwyn Herbertson shared invaluable insights that every company director needs to hear. Continuous improvement, especially in this kind of role, is essential. A lot rests on the shoulders of a director, both personally and professionally. We applaud those who attended, demonstrating their commitment to continuous improvement and excellence. 👏 #NDISprovider #NDISdirector

What is the Disability Services Act in WA? The Western Australian Disability Services Act 1993 provides a foundation for promoting the rights of Western Australians with disability and the delivery of programs and services. It requires that all Western Australian Government departments develop and implement Disability Access and Inclusion Plans. *Audits are they strong enough for accountability, like HaDSCO under WAs Disability Services Act - this is my point of view💡 Alignment with policies (not out dated policies) across all departments from state to state, to ensure participants are safe and continuity starts from the roll out point. #stewardship #disabilityawareness #disabilityrights #disabilityinclusion #humanrights #personcentred #governance #government #codesign

Further to fight against fraud, Bill Shorten, Minister for the NDIS, has recently announced further improvements to NDIS systems. Read the media release - Reinforcing a sustainable, honest, and trustworthy NDIS https://lnkd.in/gJ_i6nA3. The NDIA want to: · ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants; · make it ‘easier to get it right, and harder to make mistakes (get it wrong) for everyone Over the coming months NDIA systems or payment requirements are being improved to ensure all claims and payments are going to right places. PAYMENT TIMING CHANGES From March 2024, the NDIA may take more time to check claims before they are paid. Valid claims: · from self-managed participants will be paid within 2 business days. · from NDIS providers will be paid within 2 to 3 business days. What does this mean for people Self Managing their NDIS Plan? This is a change from anyone who may have received overnight payments. Claims will no longer be processed and paid overnight for the following business day. If you hire your own support workers and handle your own payroll, you should talk about the NDIA’s payment terms with your suppliers. Further information is available at: https://lnkd.in/gvJuS2P7 What does this mean for Providers ? From March 2024, all payments will align to NDIA’s payment terms. NDIA payment terms state that valid claims will be paid within 2 to 3 business days with some payments taking up to 10 business days to process. If a provider claim needs to be checked, only that claim will wait. The NDIA will ask for more information. If everything looks good, they will pay it. If not, they need to get the right information before paying. This is why it might take 10 days. Providers need to check their billing systems to fit the new payment times. This will help avoid more delays. Read more https://lnkd.in/gz7GH2S Everyone has a responsibility to keep and maintain records and invoices.

Through the Medicaid Reentry Section 1115 Demonstration Opportunity, states can cover certain services under Medicaid/CHIP up to 90 days before a person is released from jail, prison, or a youth correctional facility. This decision represents a significant step forward for individuals in these states who are striving for recovery during their time in incarceration. #JusticeInvolved #HealthEquity https://lnkd.in/ecmAcpGi

An important change... good to see progress in coverage for folks released from incarceration. It has never made sense to me for people with chronic conditions, mental or physical to be released with no access to care, or in many cases, meds for their chronic conditions. The historical path of folks going from incarceration to the emergency department of the closest hospital is expensive and not helpful. Allowing a reasonable transition to outside care will have a positive impact.
