Yet another of the many doctors and other MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS being murdered with OUR tax dollars, and OUR government’s support? Every doctor killed or imprisoned also means the death of other civilians (children, pregnant women, elderly, disabled, cancer patients, etc), because they have no one to treat them. Especially because Israel has intentionally destroyed almost all hospitals in Gaza, along with sewage, water, & other infrastructure, causing disease to run rampant in a population already suffering from malnutrition because they are being intentionally starved. The world medical professions are standing by mostly mute, passive, eyes averted elsewhere in awkward, cowardly silence, while doctors and nurses, hospital staff, ambulance drivers and EMTs are massacred on a daily basis. This professional silence and obequious passivity gives a continuing green light to warmongering nation-state brutes and sociopaths to continue their savagery with more authority as killers than doctors and nurses have as healers. Why does the world tolerate these murderous state authorities and criminal militaries, or tolerate the feckless passivity of so many healthcare professionals?

As Israeli military strikes continue to batter the Middle Area, Al-Aqsa Hospital is struggling to cope with the overwhelming influx of patients and fatalities. "It's a scene of utter devastation. This hospital is like a sinking ship," reports Karin Huster, a medical referent with Doctors Without Borders in Gaza. "The emergency room at Al-Aqsa Hospital is in even worse condition than yesterday. There was no time to recover from the previous day's mass influx of casualties, and now they're facing another wave," Huster adds. Patients arriving in critical condition often die at Al-Aqsa due to the sheer volume of cases and the hospital's limited capacity. Despite these dire circumstances, the medical staff remains resolute. "We are not giving up on our patients," they assert, demonstrating unwavering dedication, though the sustainability of their efforts is in serious doubt. The crisis is exacerbated by the severe shortage of operational hospitals in Gaza, making it nearly impossible to transfer patients elsewhere for treatment. #Lebanon is experiencing the most significant escalation of conflict since the 2006 Lebanon War, with close to 1,300 people killed over a span of 16 days, between Sept. 16 and Oct. 1, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health. The intense Israeli bombardments have forced more than one million people to flee their homes, according to national authorities. In response to the dire situation, #MSF has scaled up our emergency response and sent various mobile medical teams, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, counsellors and health promoters, to schools and other shelters across the country. These teams have already provided over 1,780 general medical consultations over the past week and continue to provide assistance to displaced individuals and families, and more teams are on the way to reach areas in need of support. Today, 21 Palestinians were killed and 64 injured, according to local health authorities, after Israeli forces bombed another tent camp for displaced people in Al-Mawasi, west of Rafah in southern Gaza. Medical staff and patients at an MSF-supported trauma stabilisation point in Tal Al-Sultan in Rafah were also forced to flee on the night of 27 May, as hostilities in the area intensified, effectively stopping all medical activities in the facility. This forced evacuation of yet another healthcare facility comes 24 hours after Israeli forces carried out an air strike on what they had designated as a “safe zone”, killing at least 49 people and wounding over 250 others. Staff at the stabilisation point recorded a mass casualty influx of 180 wounded people and 31 dead, with patients suffering from severe burns, shrapnel wounds, fractures, and other traumatic injuries. These patients were stabilised and referred to field hospitals located towards Al-Mawasi, further west, as there are no remaining functional trauma hospitals able to cope with such a mass casualty event. We call for all warring parties to respect and protect medical facilities, their staff, and patients. We call for Israel to immediately halt its offensive on Rafah and to open the Rafah crossing point to let in humanitarian and medical aid at scale. We call for an immediate and sustained ceasefire throughout the Strip. 🚨 Shocking Situation Unveiled at Gaza's Nasser Hospital 🚨   After facing days of denied access by Israeli forces, a team of dedicated UN doctors finally gained entry into Nasser Hospital located in southern Gaza. Their findings have left them utterly stunned.   Reports from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (#OCHA), citing Gaza’s Health Ministry, indicate that on Sunday, Feb 18, 2024, Israeli forces detained 70 medical staff at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis. Tragically, eight patients lost their lives due to a dire shortage of oxygen.   Amid the chaos, the World Health Organization (WHO) orchestrated the evacuation of fourteen patients from the hospital, while negotiations persist with Israeli authorities for the safe evacuation of all remaining patients.   '#WHO completes second Gaza hospital evacuation amid ongoing raid'   In a relentless effort to save lives amidst ongoing hostilities, the WHO has executed a second evacuation mission from Gaza’s Nasser Hospital. A total of 32 critical patients, including children, have been transferred from the site. However, the mission is far from over as efforts persist to evacuate the remaining patients.   Expressing deep concern, the WHO underscores the urgent need for the safety and well-being of both patients and healthcare workers still inside the hospital.
