🚀 Exciting Update on Agency Partnerships at AfterShip! 🚀 A little update on how things are going with Agency Partnerships here at AfterShip: Q1: Missed target Q2: Narrowly missed target - Shoutout to Aidan Fisher for exceeding his ramp target! 🎉 Q3: On pace to hit target 🚀 A great friend of mine over at LinkedIn, who leads a highly successful sales team, once shared that they generally know they’ll fall between 98-102% of quota attainment. That’s the maturity of LinkedIn at work. But that’s not where I am right now... I’m fortunate to have joined AfterShip at a stage where I could build something from scratch. We began with a rolodex of agencies and a rough story to tell. It’s truly amazing to witness how that initial idea has taken off, thanks to our incredible agency partners. Now, we’re collaborating with 80 of the top agencies worldwide, and we've activated 21 of them with Closed Won deals. 🌟 I wake up energized. I go to sleep exhausted. The moment I took this picture, my life changed. Back in January I parted ways with Lokalise with no intention of finding another job. 6 years in sales, needed a break and wanted to spend some of that money I was busting my a’ off for. So there I was - carrying my 🏄🏽♀️ to the beach in Canarias, laughing at this garage sign thinking - this is so liberating, the only way I’d ever change my mind was if a really epic opportunity came my way. My criteria for epic seemed impossible: 👉🏻A bootstrapped company between 1-10M in ARR. Bootstrapping lemlist from 1 to 14M in ARR was the most challenging, exhilirating experience of my work life. I needed that thrill again. 👉🏻 The PMF had to be there. To genuienly believe in the product. To know it’s loved and needed by the customers. 👉🏻 The culture. A team that’s so strong in its core, carefully built, full of trust, transparency and respect, where everyone has each others backs and know we can only win if we work as one. 👉🏻 In office, but not in Belgrade - got tired of my 4 walls after 5 years working remotely. Belgrade started to feel small. 👉🏻 Also, would be nice to live by the sea. 😅 So I set my “Open to work” to Spain and Portugal. And as I was thinking how optimistic that was of me, I got a InMail. Subject line: *Bootstrapped and profitable in Barcelona* What the actual… - Hm. A hyper personalised message from recruiter that’s better than most of sales cold emails I’ve ever seen Wait what… *7M in ARR, bootstrapped, small team, 300K signup users/month…* Suffice to say, I didn’t catch a single wave that day. But it was the day I decided - oh I am dropping everything and am going to work for Happy Scribe no matter what. 3 months later, here we go - bootstrapping to double digits in ARR…AGAIN. Why the silence? 🤫 You might have noticed it’s been a bit quiet from my side lately. There are a few reasons for that—yes, I was on vacation, and exciting things were happening behind the scenes at mobileJobs GmbH and GTM Pioneers. We’ve been working on key projects, including hiring Rodney Gessmann as Co-Founder and pushing forward with the vision to create a GTM Ecosystem. But if I’m being honest, that’s only 20% of the story. The truth is, I hit a low point in terms of energy and drive. It wasn’t that I lost motivation for our work at GTM; it was just a general sense of exhaustion. Building a business is demanding, but I’ve learned something important: business is never the # 1 priority. How can I be a good founder, leader, entrepreneur, husband, or dad if I’m not physically and mentally at my best? So, I took the time I needed. I’m not back at 100%, but I’m close—and on the right path. You’ll hear more from me moving forward, but here's a key lesson I’ve learned: if you don’t feel it, don’t force it. That’s a privilege I’ve worked hard for, and I intend to use it. For anyone pushing through tough moments, remember—it's okay to step back. Listen to your body and mind. It’s not about giving up; it’s about respecting your limits so you can return stronger. Life as a founder can be tough, but no matter what you’re doing, we all have our own boundaries. Respect yours, and make sure to look out for those around you as well. Now, it’s time to get back to work. Let’s build that GTM ecosystem. 🚀 Take care, and keep growing.

Many really good comments! And, Wolfram Müller, your post is right on the pain points: management can really improve the company's productivity by learning the proven business rules of TOC/Flow! Great example also with the top sales person or project experts being "wasted" with by excessive administrative toil ... And we talked about the "final" Constraint often being Sales/Marketing two week ago. So: total recommendation!

After two amazing years, my time at Malomo has come to an end this week Reflecting on how far we’ve come since this picture was taken during my second week on the job in Vegas for Shoptalk 22' is truly remarkable A few highlights throughout my tenure as the first Partnerships hire... - Partnerships went from the lowest-performing pipeline and bookings source in 2021 to the highest in 2023, contributing ~50% to both - Created a brand new agency program centered around bringing value to the agencies who chose to believe in us, which is by far the best-performing partner category today - Launched multiple first-of-their-kind integrations and built a scalable integration launch playbook over time - Partnered with category leader Loop on an integration and GTM effort that resulted in the highest integration adoption between 2 ISVs I’ve ever seen (80%+ by last count) and some of the largest deals in company history - Built partnerships with leading 3PL partners like Whiplash (s/o Marco De Paulis), which went from 0 to one of our highest sourcing partner segments - Identified and built new rev share partnerships to supplement subscription revenue - Finally, I think we averaged at least 1 co-marketing campaign or event per week throughout my tenure (FYI, this should probably be at the top of the list because none of the other stuff happens without it) I could go on and on and on but you get the point One of the reasons I took the job was to challenge myself to build a GTM program from scratch in an industry that was foreign to me But you’ll notice that I said “how far WE’VE come” above 👆 And that’s my biggest lesson learned: To achieve these types of results, it takes a village Especially for Partnerships, it takes most of the org and particularly the executive team to be bought into creating a partner-first culture A culture centered around creating value for the ecosystem, not just the organization A culture centered around building authentic relationships, not just transactional ones And that’s what I was lucky enough to get (and hopefully influence a bit) at Malomo I should’ve known considering I’ve had a very authentic relationship with Yaw Aning since co-founding my company out of college And all these years later, here we are together, proud as hell of what we accomplished as a team I’m eternally grateful for all of my teammates at Malomo who made working together rarely feel like work, the partners who have joined us on this journey, and the merchants whom we are all ultimately here to serve!
