In high-performance sports (e.g., NFL, NBA, MLB), many things are equal (e.g., salary cap, access to players). However, one of the ways to seperate your team & organization from the rest is how you use your practice time. This is where Skill Acquisition Specialists can help change the game! https://lnkd.in/d5xVFV3P

I am a big fan of Tennis, today while watching US open, I realized that the top ranking players have a a big support team with a coach, a physio, a sports Psychologist, a nutritionist etc. Don’t you think in the corporate world a CXO need a team like that to be successful and to tell the CXO how to run the business. I don’t think the team reporting to CXO will serve the purpose. Don’t we think we need a Ted Lasso for carporate world? Is boarding doing that job? Also a big fan of Ted lasso, Appreciate thoughts from leaders in the business, about where you find your coaching and who is your Ted Lasso, Roy Kent and Coach Beard?

Planning is another key factor in Reasoning, and just because you're busy does not mean you are productive. No rockstar will save your business alone. You don't need a team of rockstars either. You need people with the right skills for the right roles to make the show go on. With efficient coaching, A-players, and B-players have roles in any successful place, producing more together. I'm not talking about a one-man army. That's different… 🤘😎 #Coaching #Business #Strategy #People

For many teams it is the end of the season and that means review time. A review helps to draw a line under the season and to assess how you did, but the key is to provide a starting point for planning your next season. You can't change what has already happened, but you can always learn from experience and improve! Setting up a season review template is straightforward. Step 1 - define some areas that are important to your club - for example Technical, Tactical, Physical, Cultural, Coaching, Support Step 2 - write questions for each area that ask about Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Step 3 - identify your stakeholders - owners, coaches, key players, key staff - and get them to complete the template. Step 4 - collect the response and combine them into a single document. #seasonreview #sportsperformance #footballcoaching #football #footballperformance

Human Being | #1 Transformational Speaker | 100M+ lives impacted | Co-Founder @ Varlo | Former NFL Athlete | Speaking Coach | Author | 4x TEDx speaker | Speaking Inquiries: [email protected]
One of my favorite former coaches, Joe Danna, used to ask my teammates and I a simple question - "why not you?" Why not you - to make the big play? Why not you - to make the big catch? Why not you - to score the big touchdown? Why not you - to make it on ESPN Top 10? Why not you? This question has stuck with me for years and rings loud in my ears almost daily. Why not you? It's one of the reasons I have made it this far. I believe it can be me. So now I'll ask you - why not you? Why not you - to get the big promotion? Why not you - to win the big client? Why not you - to win the award? Why not you - to start your own business? Why not you? Thanks, coach! #FailForward

Its official - my new passion 'Pickleball' is a powerful wellbeing, personal development and leadership development tool! Here's what Brené Brown has to say about Pickleball: "I hope you get to do something that brings you joy this weekend. For me, joy + play = pickleball. I’m obsessed and try to play four to five times a week. The court might be the only place in the world where I’m fully in the now. Not thinking ahead, worrying, wondering—just keeping my eye on the ball and my head in the game. When I don’t do both, there’s immediate feedback. Like a ball to the face." And Nick Petrie talks about your 'opposite world' as an activity that creates flow, and is the opposite of your day job as being a strategy of the top 2% of elite / top performers in high pressure jobs that helps them sustain their performance and avoid burnout! https://lnkd.in/gW_jvQTA Now I'm an accredited Pickleball coach, and run Waiuku Pickleball Club, as well as being an ambasador for Pickleballstuffnz.co.nz, if you want any advice, support or mindfulness (I mean pickleball coaching) let me know! Happy to organise it as a team development activity - tee hee! Patrick Cripps': Chasing Dreams, Leadership, and Casting a Lasting Shadow Carlton's Patrick Cripps secures his second Brownlow Medal, reflecting on the journey from chasing personal dreams to recognising the shadow he casts as a leader. In his speech, Cripps highlighted the importance of vulnerability, consistent growth, and leading with intention. Some highlights for me from his speech: ➡️ On being a leader: "As a player you can get the best out of yourself, but when you're a leader – how can I get the best out of the team as well? So really trying to focus on the energy I provide in a game, how can I control the momentum of the game, at breaks etc. Then also if you're not playing well can you still lead the team? I think that is really important cause you're not going to play well every week but as a leader you need to sit above yourself. ➡️ On vulnerability and self reflection piece "After listening to a podcast about the mindset of Scott Pendlebury in the 2023 GF, I knew I was not at that level yet and I needed to work on it. I now not only look at my playing edits but footage of my body language on the field to work out if I am leading in key moments the way I need to be." ➡️ On his relationship with his coach Michael Voss: "What I appreciate is that he supports me, and we have a really honest relationship where he is not afraid to challenge me and vice versa and I think it is really healthy. ➡️ On how close they are to winning a premiership: "The competition is only getting more even, we know that, and now you're looking for competitive advantages with club culture - this is how you take your club from good to great. What I love about this article is how Coach Bowles mindset is to never be outworked. Achieving that goal lowers his chance of being outcoached and that increases his teams chance to win. Laying the foundation with hard work is the base of any successful venture.

When someone taps out in wrestling, they are conceding the match. Badasses fall into the scarcity trap of believing that tapping out means giving up. The truth is a little more complex than that. Yes, it's technically true that tapping out means giving up... only if you're looking at one tiny snapshot in time. That is the critical lesson for Badasses to learn. It's next to impossible for a Badass to concede or to tap out. They are harder on themselves than they are on anyone else. The Modern Badass negative highlight reel, started in childhood, is on constant repeat and is always accepting new content. The idea of giving up means more things to review and stew over. So what is a remedy for a Modern Badass? How do they resist falling into a scarcity trap? ✳️ First, remind them of their love of creativity. They LOVE standing in front of a whiteboard and envisioning opportunity and possibility. They LOVE using play to arrive at new ideas. ✳️ Second, using creativity, reframe tapping out as a feeder for 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 in their creativity pipeline. It's not the tapping out that matters so much as the data gleaned from tapping out. ✳️ Third, remind them that the word yet is the most powerful tool in their strategic arsenal. It's not that they are tapping out so much as they haven't created the path to succeeding 𝙮𝙚𝙩. ✳️ Lastly, remind them that the collective genius of their team will always allow them to go further, faster. They don't have to go it alone. What would you offer as food for thought for Modern Badasses? #leadership #coaching #coach #ExecutiveCoaching #ExecutiveCoach #PersonalDevelopment #management
