Today is my two year work anniversary at Tempo Software! 🎉 Here are some lessons I've learnt: - Company culture is an individual effort. - There's no need to rush a decision or reply. - Find low hanging fruits, and fulfil them quickly. - Stakeholder relationships matter. Befriend everyone. - Showing what was done is as important as doing the work. - Boundaries are important to not be pulled in every direction. - Try not to stress too much. The bad times blow over quickly. - Working with smart, conscientious people makes work easy. - To not get seen as purely tactical communicate strategy too. Tempo does $100m+ ARR, and last year I was promoted to own the product marketing for our SaaS division and products! It's great to work on award-winning products, and an overall winning company. I've learnt a lot working here, and appreciate the amazing culture we have. Here's to many more years! For now, I celebrate. 🤝

The first month of Q2 is almost done! Can you believe it? Time really flies... I think if we don’t have clear goals or plans, we might waste time on things that don’t matter and BOOM the year is gone. That’s why, every Friday, I like to think about 4 important things: ✅ Thinking about what helps me and what doesn’t. ✅ Checking how I’m doing with my goals for the current quarter. ✅ Whether it's daily tasks or larger projects, consistently working towards your goals helps build momentum establishing a pattern of success. ✅ Embracing a mindset of lifelong learning fosters adaptability and innovation. Time is super important to me. So, I take a moment to be thankful for it. No matter how the week went, I’m grateful for what I’ve accomplished so far. It’s a reminder to be kind to myself and appreciate what I have. How about you?

Happy 6-month work anniversary to me! 🎉 Can't believe how quickly time flies when you're learning and growing! Here are some updates on my journey: 1. Exciting news! I was honored with a 2023 Performance Recognition Award for my hard work and dedication. 2. I've been honing my PowerPivot and data skills in Excel, and it's been an enlightening journey. 3. I've been immersed in our ERP system and have made significant strides in becoming proficient in it. 4. Creating meaningful relationships has been a highlight for me. Building strong connections with colleagues and partners has been incredibly rewarding. 5. Gaining insight into the operational workings of a larger company, especially in a new industry, has been invaluable. It's given me a clearer perspective on how to drive positive change. This month, I celebrated my 13th work anniversary 😱, and what an incredible experience it has been! From day one, I’ve been fortunate to be part of this amazing organisation, and I’m thrilled to share some reflections on this milestone. Key Lessons Learned: 1. Resilience: Over the years, I’ve faced challenges, setbacks, and unexpected twists. But each time, I’ve bounced back stronger, learning that resilience is essential. 2. Collaboration: Teamwork makes the dream work! As I step into my role as head of the department, I appreciate the power of collaboration. Together, we achieve more. 3. Adaptability: Our industry evolves rapidly. Staying adaptable and open to change has been crucial. Embracing new technologies and ideas keeps us ahead. 4. Emotional Intelligence: Recognising and understanding our own emotions, as well as those of others, has been vital. Today is my 13 year anniversary at my company. It’s a bit of a tradition for people in my org to get an email of congrats for them sent out to everyone for the team to say “Hey great job”. I haven’t gotten one of these in 5 years. I casually mentioned this to my leadership a few years back and was told “Well we always thought you were above idle praise. “, and don’t get me wrong there’s a bit of a truth to that. However, as someone who has worked on both sides of the coin as a leader and as a direct report, my advice is to let that person decide that. Give them the praise and then let them tell you “Hey you don’t have to do that. “ The reason is because so many times our direct reports can feel unseen, or under appreciated. There’s a ton of times where there’s maybe something personal going on and they as people feel unseen or under appreciated. It’s not up to us as leaders to decide that for them, it’s up to us to let them make that choice and it’s up to us to understand that sometimes situations change. Praise your people when you can and where you can and let them know they’re valued for the investment they put into YOU and your company. They’re the lifeblood of what makes you look good, so if a 3 minute email is what you can do to make them feel valued, that’s a 3 minute investment worth it every single time and anything beyond that time is just better and better. That said, my favorite part of being here for 13 years has been the chance and opportunities to meet incredible people and in my learning and development role show my appreciation for the dedication and talent everyone I meet brings to the table every single day. It pushes me as an employee, a leader, a person to be my best self every single day. If I’ve interacted with you at my company, THANK YOU. Even for the smallest of time, because it reminds me of why I’m here and the fantastic company I keep. I can’t wait to do more and see where this ride takes me. Skal.

This month marks my two-year anniversary in the industry across three different companies, and I want to share 10 tips I really wish I had known before starting, based on my work experience... ▶ 1. Make decisions without hesitating so much. ▶ 2. Ask about anything that causes you uncertainty, even if it scares you. ▶ 3. It’s normal to feel afraid; don’t let that hold you back. ▶ 4. Lean on teammates who add value to you. ▶ 5. Every day is a good day to learn; ask for more training. ▶ 6. Value your work so that others will value it too. ▶ 7. Taking breaks is healthy; give yourself the chance to clear your mind. ▶ 8. The people around you were once in your position too, so don’t underestimate yourself for not knowing what others do. ▶ 9. Staying up-to-date with the latest news in your field will help you have a broader perspective for your decisions. ▶ 10. Never stop learning new languages or practicing the ones you already know. I got laid off on my 5th work anniversary. Expected? Hell no! Transformative? Definitely. Here are 5 lessons I learned: 1. Center your self-concept beyond your title. -> Your title isn't your identity, know your true worth. -> Hard pill to swallow, but, do not take it personally. 2. When a door closes, windows of possibility open. -> Get face-to-face with the core of who you are. -> Choose your most empowered version. 3. Humanity is wired for connection, not competition. -> Survival is not a solo battle, welcome support. -> Rise above shame and fear, open up and connect. 4. Crisis does not break you — it breaks you open. -> Be grateful for the cracks; let the light get in. -> Your capacity for expansion is limitless. 5. The universe makes space for what’s meant to be. -> Change doesn’t define you — it reveals you. -> Find courage in the face of fear. This layoff is not an end. It's the beginning of how I shall be remembered. Not for what I lost, but for how I persevered, How I built my legacy, And how I helped others along the way.

Today I reached my 23rd year on Earth.😂 While I don't usually celebrate my birthday on LinkedIn, this year feels somehow special. It was the most difficult year for me. A lot of things happened, a lot of plans, and stress most of the time. Some plans succeeded, some failed. Thanks for Plan A, B, C, and also for D, which I wasn't expecting but happened. 😂 I've learned a lot, accepting that not everything you want or plan to happen can be a totally different thing but still good. If you want to be happy, you should have 1. patience and 2. satisfaction with all the results, whatever they were. These two things are very important. I also love this chapter of the year when I graduated. I think it was the best. ❤️ I know myself better this year because I was under a stress I wasn't used to before. I'm happy with the achievements of the year.
