I am ECSTATIC to announce my new position as the England Football Team's manager following Gareth Southgate's departure 💪 ⚽ Okay that might be a little stretch of the truth... and by stretch of the truth I mean a complete lie. (Those who know me will know that I am useless at playing sports and can rarely walk in a straight line without tripping over 😅). BUT, following Southgate's resignation, I HAVE learnt a few lessons on teamwork and leadership. 😎 Here are a few key takeaways from Southgate's journey: 🤔 Managing expectations: Southgate faced immense pressure and high expectations. Effective leaders must navigate these pressures and communicate realistic goals to their teams and stakeholders. 📢 Learning from criticism: Throughout his tenure, Southgate dealt with both praise and criticism. Constructive feedback is invaluable, and effective leaders use it to make informed decisions, even if it means facing tough realities. 🔁 Adapting to change: The dynamic nature of football, much like business, requires constant adaptation. Southgate's career reminds us that staying flexible and willing to evolve with changing circumstances is crucial for long-term success. 🤦♀️ Handling setbacks with grace: Despite his efforts, football was not coming home. Effective leaders demonstrate resilience and grace under pressure, learning from setbacks to build stronger strategies moving forward. #Leadership #Management #TeamDynamics #GarethSouthgate #LeadershipChallenges #BusinessStrategy #Resilience #Adaptability #CareerGrowth

I will concede. Warwick Kay is the #boss at work 🤣 On a more serious note, Adventure Graphics wouldn't be what it is without him. He carries a lot more than I thought before I started working with him (even if he is sitting down for most of it 🙄 😅 ), which I think has been a big thing for our relationship and business ☺️ Happy #NationalBossDay to all those managing a business and team (and a wife or husband 🤣 ) #WorkingTogether #ManagingASmallBusiness #ManagingATeam
🎉🎉 Happy #NationalBossDay 🎉🎉 In celebration of National Boss's Day, and inspired by the lovely #MeetTheTeam posts by our friends Midas Recruitment Ltd, we’d like to shine a spotlight on our fantastic boss 😉 No, he really is fantastic and keeps us all on track, always ensuring our designs and customer service are on-brand and on-point. He is our resident trouble-shooter ('persistence' really is his middle name!) and he keeps us on his toes with his off-the-scale competitiveness and quick wit 😂 If you'd like to learn even more about Creative Director, head over to our blog where Warwick shares a bit about his life beyond the office (and yes, #SpoilerAlert he may mention Leicester City and Star Wars!) 🛸 🦊 🎨 Read the #Blog now! 👇 📗 https://lnkd.in/eq8Tg3RH #GetToKnowYourBoss #StarWarsNerd #DesignerLife #Leadership

Another Amazing Feedback! A big shoutout to Shea O'Toole for yet another outstanding example of professionalism and care! Receiving reviews like this reminds us why we do what we do. Here’s what one of our candidates had to say about their experience: *“I had a really great experience with Shea at Iceberg. He explained every step of the process thoroughly, yet concisely, to ensure I was well prepared. Shea was very proactive in communicating how best to approach the application process, and even reached out after I had started my role to check up on me which I found to be a thoughtful touch. I felt confident in my application with Shea’s support, and he represented my best interest very effectively at the negotiation stage of the application. I would highly recommend Iceberg, and Shea in particular, given their efficient and considered approach.”* 👏 It’s moments like this that highlight the impact of personalized, thoughtful guidance during such an important transition. Thank you to our incredible candidates for trusting us, and to Shea for consistently going above and beyond. If you’re looking for a partner in your career journey, let’s connect! #Recruitment #IcebergCyber #Teamwork #Leadership #ThankYou

Remi has an awesome careers page that your company should copy. A great careers page accomplishes 2 things: 1️⃣ Is a MAGNET to talent we want to ATTRACT 2️⃣ Is a REPELLANT to talent we want to AVOID In order to accomplish those goals, companies need to be transparent with employees and candidates. High leadership transparency = high employee alignment. What I learned from Remi's jobs page: ➡️ Why does the company exist? ➡️ Why should I be excited about the problem? ➡️ Do they have a plan to win? ➡️ How will they build the company? What is the culture like? ➡️ Who is the leadership team? Do they seem like people I want to work with? ➡️ What are the behaviors and skills of top performers? Nice work Doug Barnett, Brant Choate, Reno Mendenhall. And congrats on your Series A!

10 Leadership Lessons from Gareth Southgate 🤔 (compared to former England manager Fabio Capello) 1. Leadership Style: • Capello: Authoritative and strict. • Southgate: Empathetic and inclusive. 2. Communication: • Capello: Limited and top-down. • Southgate: Open and two-way. 3. Tactical Approach: • Capello: Focus on tactical discipline. • Southgate: Flexible tactics tailored to players’ strengths. 4. Player Relationships: • Capello: Professional distance maintained. • Southgate: Builds strong, personal relationships with players. 5. Team Environment: • Capello: Rigid and highly structured. • Southgate: Supportive and collaborative. 6. Emotional Intelligence: • Capello: Low emphasis on emotional aspects. • Southgate: High emphasis on emotional well-being of players. 7. Adaptability: • Capello: Less adaptable to changing situations. • Southgate: Highly adaptable and responsive. 8. Motivation Techniques: • Capello: Relies on discipline and expectations. • Southgate: Uses encouragement and positive reinforcement. 9. Public Perception: • Capello: Seen as stern and unapproachable. • Southgate: Viewed as approachable and relatable. 10. Cultural Fit: • Capello: Struggled with adapting to English football culture. • Southgate: Seamlessly integrated into and influenced the culture. By building strong relationships and nurturing a supportive team culture, Southgate achieved results that we haven’t seen for decades. He created a sense of unity within the squad and got the media on side which has perhaps been his most significant tactical success. In an era where emotional intelligence and adaptability are increasingly valued, Southgate’s management techniques epitomise the effectiveness of a human-centric approach. We’ll bring it home next time, until then congratulations to Spain and well done to the England men’s team. We can all learn some valuable lessons on how to build a high functioning team from the work Gareth has done over the past eight years. Do you agree or do you think the team has carried him? #Leadership #Management #Marketing #GarethSouthgate #InfluencerMarketing #Teamwork #EmotionalIntelligence #Success #SportsManagement

When it comes to recruiting, there are really only two kinds: you find the player for the position, or you find the position for the player. In the first situation, you have a position open, and you look for someone to fill that position. That is the typical way most recruiting works. But sometimes even when you don't have a position open, you find a potential player who is so good that you simply cannot pass up the opportunity to get him on the team. © John Maxwell #HopeOgobuegwu#ThePreachingSalesman#Teamwork#Attitude#Leadership#NeverStopLearning
