💫"Sharing is caring, especially when it comes to children. Teaching them the value of sharing and kindness can have a profound impact on their lives and the lives of those around them. When children share, they learn empathy, compassion, and the importance of community. They understand that everyone has something unique to offer, and that together, they can create something truly special. Sharing helps children develop social skills, build relationships, and grow into confident and caring individuals. It's a simple yet powerful act that can bring joy and happiness to both the giver and receiver. So, let's encourage our children to share, to give, and to care for one another. 💜Let's model sharing behavior ourselves, and show them that kindness and generosity can change the world. By sharing, we can make a difference, one small act at a time. 🤗 #SharingIsCaring #ChildrenAreTheFuture #TeachThemWell #KindnessMatters #EmpathyInAction #CompassionInAction #SocialSkills #RelationshipBuilding #ConfidentChildren #CaringIndividuals #SimpleActs #BigImpact #ModelGoodBehavior #KindnessCanChangeTheWorld #MakeADifference #SpreadLove #ShareTheLove #CareForOneAnother"

On Fridays I chair Norfolk's Children's Integrated Provision Panel, giving me a rare opportunity to take a step back from my strategic work and hear the stories and experiences of young people. Today, I was reminded of the power of kindness and compassion in our field. Amidst the complexities of children's situations and systems, it's can become easy to overlook their wants and needs. We can become hyper-focused on risks and keeping them safe, forgetting they are children that also need to learn and have fun. Sometimes, they don't neatly fit into our services and fall through gaps. The support children need isn't always clear and as professionals we can feel stuck or even frustrated that we don't know how to help. However, taking a moment to empathise, to truly listen to the child’s voice, can make a world of difference. It's essential to remember: it's the systems that are complex, not the children. Let's strive to show kindness and understanding in every interaction and find opportunities for children to have enjoyment as well as safety. #Children #Kindness #Compassion #Empathy #Support #Listen #Professionalism #ComplexNeeds

November is Family Engagement Month! Communities In Schools site coordinators work hand-in-hand with parents and caregivers, empowering them to be present and support their children’s success in school. Family engagement is also essential to improving attendance! CIS understands that students can miss school for a variety of reasons including lack of transportation, and housing or food insecurity. That’s why the CIS model is designed to support kids in the classroom and their families by connecting them to essential resources and supports. Learn more about how CIS is working with families to help kids stay in school and prepare them for life at cisga.org #BeingPresentMatters
