An afternoon nap after a hearty meal of fish curry and rice, with the whirring sound of fan above me. Revisiting favourite parts of Maria Popova’s blog “The Marginalian”. Feel inspired and pick up more unread books from my shelves, none to do with personal growth, behavioural economics, longevity or world affairs. Doodling to a self-curated indie music playlist I have lovingly christened “Obscure October Love”, and then adding some very off-genre Radiohead and Mazzy Star to the playlist coz it goes with the vibe. Driving off to Aravali hills for sunset views with special people. Getting an old violin repaired. ___ We all do get and enjoy weekends. But there’s something truly magical about mid-week holidays. I am forcing myself to pause today, and might do some of the things that I have written above. Or might not. The aim is to be aimless for the day and just enjoy what Maria Popova calls Pockets of Stillness. Hope those of you taking the day off, are doing the same. Productivity can wait until Thursday. What do your pockets of stillness look like?
Radiohead and Mazzy Star can never be off genre ♥️
Love this! There is something special about mid week holiday although ✨
That sounds wonderful! For me, it's sitting by the beach under the moonlight, letting the stillness of the night take over. Beaches have their magic, don't they?
