This paper proposes renewable #energy-#powered and #Open #Radio #Access #Network (#Open #RAN)-based architecture for #5G #Fixed #Wireless #Access (#5G #FWA) serving #Low-#Density #and #Rural #Areas (#LDRAs) using three-level closed-loops. Open RAN is a new 5G RAN architecture allowing #Open #Central #Unit and #Open #Distributed #Unit to be distributed in virtualized environment. The first closed-loop distributes radio resources to Open RAN instances and slices at the edge cloud. The second closed-loop allocates radio resources to houses. The authors design a new energy model that leverages renewable energy. They jointly optimize #radio and #energy #resource #allocation in closed-loop 3. When requirements change, existing users shouldn't bear the entire cost of upgrades; a balance must be found. If old assets face no new rules while new ones do, technology updates may be delayed. Conversely, constant changes create investment uncertainty.⚡️ ⏩Existing assets should generally have different rules than new ones, but significantly refurbished assets can be treated as new. In exceptional cases, existing assets may also need to meet new standards.⚡️ ⏩Grid codes for conventional generation units have long specified frequency and voltage ranges for normal and contingency operations but have now evolved to address renewable energy sources (RES) behavior during faults. Recent updates tackle issues like loss of inertia and increased 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 (𝐑𝐨𝐂𝐨𝐅) due to RES integration.⚡️ 💯As RES reduces system inertia, new operational measures and constraints are needed. For systems aiming for near 100% renewables, grid codes must emphasize the use of 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝-𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 and RES participation in 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬.⚡️ ➡𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬: 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 (𝐅𝐅𝐑), reactive power and frequency regulation. ➡𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: Leaving the communication channels vulnerable to cyberattacks which can destabilize power systems operation, and grid reliability. "{Power lines}..are {moving to} thinner wires that power our computers, heaters, and more...And yet most people, including policymakers and even environmentalists, did not see these electron highways as part of our clean energy transition - or, at least, not until recently." In 2024, electric companies and those industries can turn to advanced conductors that are now commercially available, instead of using outdated tech. Newest technologies and electric grid updates will help save energy, deliver more electricity and do not put as much power demand on current infrastructure. And to accelerate improved conductor systems, the US Department of Energy is leading with a manufacturing prize to teams working on these issues. Last year, seven teams won prizes for their inventions and that means we will be seeing this awesome tech soon. Exciting news that can improve our grids, reduce carbon emissions, and save and help transition our current electrical and energy grids. Bring on the challenges.

An improved #residual #network, a #Multicondense #Residual #Network (#M-#cDRN), integrating multiresidual network and condense network techniques to #predict #solar #power #coefficients, is proposed.
