If you’ve got the Sunday Scaries again, you probably should read this… Some people are telling me it must be scary to walk away from a job to start building my bookkeeping business. Sure…starting over is scary. 🤷🏽♀️ But here are some reasons why it was even scarier to stick around in corporate: 1️⃣ Sometimes worked until 3:00 am or even pulled all-nighters to meet audit and financial reporting deadlines. 2️⃣ Underpaid, unappreciated, and tired of being taken advantage of. 3️⃣ Concerns about continued unfair treatment…given what’s coming in January, employee rights are in jeopardy. 4️⃣ Corporate politics, bullies, and other toxic people. 5️⃣ Was facing 4 hour per day commutes again after being 100% remote for almost 5 years. If you’re like me… ➡️ You have already worked really hard for other people for years. ➡️ You have helped filthy rich people get even more filthy rich at your expense. ➡️ You often ran yourself into the ground for people who only saw you as employee #47387. Etc, etc. Imagine what we could accomplish if more of us applied some of our efforts to working for ourselves. 🤷🏽♀️ Maybe now the idea of being your own boss is sounding a little less scary. 🤔 You do have options. If you are able, it is up to you to grab one.
