3 ways to help your child deal with GCSE stress ⬇️ Especially in year 11, the GCSE workload can overwhelm many students. These 3 tips will help you support your child through their GCSE preparation and give them the best chance at success: 1) Encourage them to start revision early May, when GCSE exams begin, might feel far away now, but will come around quickly. By starting revision early, your child can ensure they cover everything they need to in time and avoid some of the last-minute scrambling. 2) Support them to create a revision plan With so many subjects to study for, a plan of when and what your child is going to study is key. So nudge them to create their own revision plan and then help them to refine it. This can take whatever form your child likes. But having a plan will make sure things get done. 3) Introduce past papers early on This will help your child get comfortable with the types of questions they’ll see in an exam, meaning it won’t be so much of an adjustment when it comes to their real exams. Want to help your child overcome their GCSE Maths struggles and improve their grades? When we welcome our staff back for the September teacher training day one of the first items on the agenda is reviewing our summer GCSE results and the results of individual students. This includes highlighting particular successes, for us this not only includes our highest attainers but also includes the students who have made good progress since joining us in Year 7 and those who have overcome barriers and difficulties to achieve their best. In just nine months, our newest Year 11 students will begin sitting their GCSE exams, and on Thursday, 21st August, 2025, they too will collect their results. Before then, there is a lot of work to do. To support our Year 11 parents and carers and equip them with information about the year ahead we are hosting a Year 11 Launch Evening on Tuesday, 10th September, 6.00pm. Information will be shared about: *Exam protocols *Revision techniques *Key dates *Exploring post-16 options *Success in academic studies To book tickets, visit: https://lnkd.in/eA-b6_yk To read about our 2024 GCSE results, visit: https://lnkd.in/eAaEA-u7 #AVSAmbition

We are officially half way through the school year. Where has the time gone? I for one love the rhythm and cycle of the school year. A lot of the students I work will be preparing for mock exams after half term. Others may be deciding on their GCSE options or 6th form options. Lots of decisions to make and not every student will find those choices easy. I think if you already know what you want to do then it's easy. I knew I wanted to study science and probably go to Uni. But having that clarity is rare so the advice I give students is do something you love to do. Not easy at the GCSE level because there are so many subjects you have to do and most students don't love them all. Likewise school holidays should be a time for rest and fun. The brain needs a holiday too and a refreshed student is one that will do better than a tired one. What do you think? #schoolholidays #GCSE #Alevels #education #learning

Do you have young learners around you? Check this out! One of the secret of getting good grades in any examination is practicing and revising the past questions of that examination. It worked for me and it worked for my students. Immersing my students in past questions of GCSE examination has been of great help. What do you think will happen if your child who is preparing for GCSE examination keep practicing the past questions of the examination, Year 2022, 2021, 2020 and so on? Your child will become familiar with the exam format, question style and time restraints, so when it comes to the real thing he or she will already know what to expect. Send me a DM to discuss how we can help your child to achieve good grades in his or her GCSE examination. +2349034060374

Results are now out for 2024 for GCSE passes and sadly have fallen again to 67.6%. This year, 39% of children also failed to meet the combined reading, writing and maths expected standard for the end of year 6 (SATS results 2024). ❓Are these the same students failing SATs that fail their GCSEs? The answer we have found is yes. 😔We know from our own research that those children who don't meet the year 6 SATS standard often don't pass their GCSE. They never catch up or fill the gaps in their primary understanding to then move on the GCSE standard - so limiting their life prospects and job opportunities. 🏅We scoop these new year 7s up - and assess and re teach the parts of their learning they are missing. We have had great success with students then being ready to rejoin GCSE classes - often within quite a short period of time - and regain their confidence; giving them a second chance. 🙏September is fast approaching and we would love to help more students get back on the right path and change this GCSE pass rate for following years and more importantly give the students their confidence and help for their futures.🙏 Please contact us and we can talk over how we can help turn things around for schools and students.
