Scaling a product is one of the most rewarding, yet challenging, parts of working in tech. The temptation is always to grow fast, add more features, open up new markets, and expand as much as possible. But one thing I’ve learned is that scaling without focus is a recipe for losing your product’s identity. The key to successful scaling isn’t just about adding more, it’s about staying true to the core vision that made the product valuable in the first place. With every new iteration or feature, the question I ask is: Does this support our original purpose? Does this make the product better for the users it was built for? If the answer isn’t a clear ‘yes,’ it’s a sign to step back and rethink. Staying focused on what works, while continuing to evolve, is how you scale without sacrificing quality.

I love how you mention asking whether new features actually serve the original vision. That’s such a great checkpoint to keep things aligned with what your users enjoy about the product.

100% agree. I have a very narrow, but essential, use case for Vault. In the future, my needs may expand and grow. But as a user, your core functionality matters so much to me.

Build with care 💚
