I have an unsolicited theory. Lately, I’ve been having conversations with entrepreneurial and corporate leaders about a recurring theme: the challenge of finding the same level of passion, drive, and eagerness to learn in today’s workforce as we saw in previous generations. From Creative studios, to Engineering teams, to Mechanical workshops, it seems to be a recurring theme. I'm not quick to label this solely a Gen Z issue. The deeper concern appears largely to be that it’s becoming more difficult to find the torchbearers—those who combine hunger and dedication with the understanding that true growth actually requires putting in the work. So, what’s the role of leadership in this? First, we need to create environments that nurture learning, experimentation, and mentorship, regardless of industry. Hopefully that feeds off into a peer support system where the team culture that builds from that environment - and the leader's own continued passion for growth and excellence - creates a desire to learn, tinker, experiment, fail, push harder, learn, repeat with the understanding that this is how to grow. At the heart of leadership is the responsibility to identify talent, zeal, and hunger, and then invest the effort to develop it through mentorship and ultimately, ownership. This clip from the Matrix summarises it. Neo comes into a new environment. An environment where he himself is unsure of his true capabilities. Morpheus and the ship, provide an environment for him to explore his potential. The team provides the tools and space that nurtures learning. And the minute he latches on to something that shows potential, Morpheus steps in to challenge and guide. I end the clip there because we all know what happens next. But at this point, Neither Neo, Morpheus nor the crew know it. And that's the real lesson for nurturing talent. I think this is the kind of structure that birthed a lot of the bright lights across industries. Personal hunger in nurturing environments, with mentors experienced enough to realise potential and selfless enough to give of themselves to nurture it. But in some conversations I’ve been privy to, the challenge now seems to be that despite the ship being fully equipped, the crew would rather sit in the pantry than in Neo’s chair. However, I also wonder, if a controversial part of the issue, is that today, Morpheus would be more threatened than delighted. #Leadership #Mentorship #WorkforceDevelopment #GrowthMindset #TalentNurturing #GenZ #FutureOfWork #CorporateCulture #PersonalGrowth #MatrixLeadership

I am proud to share with you that i have been conducting several Mentorship Sessions , whether mentoring young professionals for their own personal and professional growth and/or young entrepreneurs who need some business mentoring to "effectively" guide them on how to manage their businesses and come up with strong management systems in order to ensure a solid professional growth and business sustainability ( in addition to connecting them to some professionals in their fields/industry-type); Your Network is Your Net Worth! It is all about: 1/ knowledge-sharing ( i learn a LOT from my mentees and feel grateful for that) , 2/ actively listening to their business needs and 3/ guiding them with the proper tools on how to enhance their various soft skills such as Human Capital Management, Organizational Management & Strategy , Financial Management, Business Processes, Situational Leadership, Problem- Solving and Decision Making as they are quite needed for a secured 'success'. As someone once said :"Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction". I look forward to conducting more mentorship sessions for individuals and businesses!

Reposting with sincere appreciation for Sam Neo a personal branding expert whose mentoring initiatives inspire and uplift communities beyond Singapore 🌍. Mentorship is something deeply rooted in me, and I stand with Sam in advocating for its #transformative power 🙌. True mentoring is more than a program—it’s about creating an environment where people feel encouraged to grow, innovate, and connect with purpose ✨. It’s about fostering a #culture where everyone can learn from each other, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas that propel both individuals and organizations forward 🚀. In today’s AI-driven, hyper-competitive world, companies are increasingly looking for employees with innovative mindsets. But for that mindset to flourish, there needs to be a foundation of real, human support and guidance 🤝. One of the practices that can take mentorship to the next level is the : “ DONE, SEEN, FELT”approach—a principle my former boss instilled in me that has since shaped my perspective. Much like #coaching, ‘done, seen, felt’ turns mentorship into a continuous journey of action, observation, and impact 🔄. When mentorship is DONE through real actions, SEEN as part of daily interactions, and genuinely FELT by those involved, it fuels #growth and connection in ways that last 💪💡. What’s powerful about ‘done, seen, felt’ is that it’s not just limited to mentorship; it’s a mindset that enhances everything we do, making our work more #inclusive, #sustainable, and impactful 🌍💼✨. This is the legacy I believe in building—a workplace where mentorship and genuine support drive us forward 💼❤️. Thank you, Sam Neo for continuing to inspire with your dedication to #mentorship and community 🙏 I am #LilyLee; if you’re 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗛𝗥 and Leadership, let’s connect and grow together: https://lnkd.in/gBQTQtdM #mentoring #leadership

You are thinking of mentorship in a one-dimensional manner, and that's going to kill your organization! 😖 Yesterday, I was invited to speak on a panel at the ATD Southeast Asia Summit about mentorship and how it drives business growth. One question that was asked, "do you think formal or informal mentorship is better?" For someone who is extremely passionate about mentorship, I believe that both have merits and serve different purposes. But there are more important questions than that because most organizations only focus on this, and it becomes one-dimensional. Here are some mistakes that many organizations need to correct regarding mentorship... ❌ How do we start a mentoring PROGRAM? ❌ Mentorship is only for LEADERS. ❌ Mentors can only be INTERNAL leaders. ❌ Mentors have to be more EXPERIENCED and SENIOR. ❌ Mentors need to KNOW IT ALL. Instead, we should start thinking... ✅ How do you start building a mentoring CULTURE? ✅ Mentorship should be ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE. ✅ EXTERNAL MENTORS provide a different perspective that is missing in the organization. ✅ ANYONE can be a mentor! ✅ Mentors have different areas of expertise and you NEED MORE THAN ONE MENTOR to take care of different aspects of your career. 💡 Mentorship has to be multi-dimensional for it to unleash its potential to drive business growth truly! It's never too late to start changing things up. Has your perspective on mentorship changed? Let me know what resonated and if you have anything to add :) ♻️ Repost this to help organizations avoid this costly mistake. 🔔 Follow Sam Neo for more content on branding and mentorship for corporate leaders and entrepreneurs. #mentorship #entrepreneurship #careers #business #leadership #branding #personalbranding

Leadership is a complex puzzle. Mentorship is the missing piece. With it, the picture comes into focus. Ever wondered how mentorship could catapult your career? Let me share a personal insight. Joining the American Corporate Partners (ACP) veteran program was a pivotal decision in my professional journey. It introduced me to my mentor, James Leenhouts, MBA Leenhouts. Under his guidance, I've seen remarkable growth in areas critical to any aspiring leader—leadership, management, and facilities management. James brought not just expertise but also a genuine dedication to my growth. His insights and encouragement were crucial as I navigated complex challenges, providing me with the tools and confidence to excel. This relationship has had a positive effect on me, highlighting the profound impact that proper guidance can have on one’s career trajectory. Why Mentorship Matters: Guidance, Networking, and Support. ➡️Guidance: Real-world advice and insights that textbooks can't teach. ➡️Networking: Doors open with the right introductions. ➡️Support: Someone to turn to when the going gets tough. If you’re on the fence about seeking a mentor, take this as your sign to go for it. The value of this investment is immeasurable. For those looking to make a similar leap in their careers, I encourage you to explore mentorship opportunities like ACP and Veterati. They might just change your life, as they did mine. 👉Follow my journey for more insights on leadership and professional growth! Power of Young Talent and Reverse Mentoring Every Generation Brings New Wisdom Something interesting I've noticed: Each new generation isn't just different, they're smarter in ways we never imagined. I always hear concerns such as: “Will junior talent step up to mid-level responsibilities?” “Can mid-level employees grow into senior leadership?” These doubts create unnecessary bottlenecks. The truth? Every generation comes equipped with capabilities that surpass their predecessors. What we often overlook is a powerful solution called reverse mentoring. Instead of just senior leaders mentoring juniors, we need to flip the script. Here's why: • Young talent brings fresh perspectives • They're native to emerging technologies • They see opportunities we might miss • They understand evolving workplace dynamics This two-way learning can create something magical: 1. Senior leaders stay current with trends 2. Young talent feels valued and heard 3. Cross-generational barriers dissolve 4. Innovation flows more naturally My advice to leaders: Make time for your young talent. Listen more than you speak. Let them teach you. You might be surprised by how much wisdom flows upstream. #Leadership #ReverseMentoring #FutureOfWork #Innovation On Happy thanksgiving day, here's to a few bright young talent, budding, inspiring leaders whom I've learned through my career, sincerely grateful to them, Suji Jeong, AJ Burns, Daniel Lu, Diksha Raina, Puneet Nangia, Udaya Bhasker, Gururaj Nayak, Felix Becker, Pawan Kumar, Elise S., Roney Lima, Raghav H., Alexander Tankeloff, Flavia Velman, Igor Astafev, Colette Brink, Juan Andrés Peiró, Kshama Bhat, KRISTINE JADOC - VILLAREAL, Randa Tesselaar, Matthew Lara, Tejjas Kumar, Nabeel Siddiqui, Tejas Kaushik, Saurabh Choudhuri, Subrat Tarenia, Peter Toth, Prakhar Singh, Mrinalini Mishra, Tiyasha Chatterji, Viral Sharma, Ajai.j. valiathan, Ankita Jaitly, Ankit Gupta, ........ list goes on.....

The past few years have exposed us to a unique geopolitical uncertainty and challenges we have not previously experienced. We believe combining thought leadership and mentoring creates a powerful synergy that promotes growth and innovation in both individuals and organizations. Here are five key highlights of thought leadership and mentoring: 🎓 #Knowledge Sharing: Thought hashtag#leadership involves sharing expertise and insights to help others navigate challenges in a specific field. Mentoring complements this by providing guidance based on personal experiences and fostering professional growth. 🤝🏻 Building #Trust and #Credibility: Both thought leaders and mentors establish credibility through their knowledge and experience. This builds trust in relationships, encouraging others to seek advice and learn from their expertise. 👩💻 Fostering #Innovation: Thought leaders often challenge conventional wisdom and inspire new ideas. Mentorship encourages mentees to think critically and creatively, fostering an environment where innovation can thrive. 🧑🏻🤝🧑🏼 #Networking Opportunities: Thought leadership can create networking opportunities by connecting individuals across industries. Mentorship helps expand these networks, offering mentees access to valuable contacts and resources. ✍️ #Personal and #Professional Development: Both roles contribute to personal development by encouraging self-reflection and growth. Thought leaders inspire audiences to strive for excellence, while mentors provide tailored support, helping mentees to achieve their goals. Do not hesitate to reach out to us for any customized support, execution and integration. Idan Nishlis Nishlis Legal Marketing #Thoughleadership #Mentioring #Legalmarketing #Globalexpenssion
