You need a Content calendar! When I was starting to build my personal brand, there was something I struggled with for months.. Staying consistent here. It always felt difficult and even harder to come up with ideas on what to write about. And then after doing a bit of research, I understood why, It was a struggle for me.. I did not have a content calendar. After I built one, my posting became smoother, more strategic, and much less stressful. So if you are struggling like I was, here’s how you can develop an effective content calendar for your social media 1. Start with your Goals What goals do you have for your Personal Brand? Are you looking to drive engagement, increase brand awareness, or generate leads? Your goals will shape the type of content you create or churn out. 2. Identify your key Content themes Focus on a few content pillars that align with your brand. This will ensure your content stays varied but focused. Content pillars will guide the content to post or share with your target audience. 3. Plan Ahead Outline your posts at least a month or 2 weeks in advance. This helps prevent last-minute scrambling and ensures a steady flow of content. You can use tools like Google Calendar or any other tool that would work for you to organize your ideas. 4. Track What Works As you post, pay attention to what content performs best. Use this data to refine your calendar in the future. The more you adjust and improve, the stronger your strategy becomes. Having a content calendar means never running out of ideas or feeling overwhelmed about what to post. It keeps you organized, focused, and ready to engage with your audience consistently. Ps. If I had to start over building my authority online with content here's how I would do it Timeline: 6 months FIRST 3-4 MONTHS 1️⃣ Select 3 segments that I believe would benefit from my services 2️⃣ Find 7-10 people from each segment to have a conversation with about their struggles (in-line with my services) 3️⃣ Create content that addresses these struggles for each segment 4️⃣ Share a series of content online and directly with those I spoke with The only metric/signal I'm paying attention to is qualitative feedback that tells me two things: ➡ The problem identified is relevant to them ➡ The content resonates and confirms my understanding of the problem NEXT 2-3 MONTHS Turn qualitative engagement into sales conversations What I'm looking for here is which segment is most willing and able to pay to solve this problem Once I identify that, I'm niching to that one specific segment They now become my Best-Fit Buyers and I build my Ideal Client Profile (ICP) around this segment Also, my entire positioning, messaging and go-to-market content strategy becomes the focus for this ICP for the next 6-12 months Because my goal is becoming the #1 go-to expert for this segment Why is this important? The more I'm seeing as the expert to solve their problem, the more likely clients will immediately think of and come to me when they need it solved I become the first choice over every other competitor that offers the same thing It's a lot more work than creating generic content for a wide audience that appeals to everyone (and no one) But ultimately the return for your marketing spend and efforts are exponentially way better Don't believe me?
