🌞 Serenity Now: Embracing the End of Summer with New Beginnings 🌟 As September dawns, I find myself holding on to the warmth of summer, reflecting on the recent journey of embracing new ideas and ventures. For the past few weeks, I’ve been wrestling with the challenge of putting myself out there once more—whether it’s a new idea, a fresh title, or a different business direction. The fear of judgment or failure often stops us in our tracks, but why let that fear dictate our actions? Recently, I took a bold step with the support of a wonderful friend, and together we broke down the process of starting anew, pitching ideas, and simply being ourselves. 💪✨ The feedback so far has been incredibly positive. This experience has reminded me of an insightful Forbes article by Melinda Fouts, which highlights the importance of vulnerability when putting ourselves out there: Forbes Article 📖🌟 https://lnkd.in/gkt_AcdZ In her article, Fouts reflects on how embracing vulnerability—despite its challenges—can lead to personal and professional growth. Here’s what I’ve learned from this experience and the article: Be Humble 🙏: Remember, it’s not always about us; it’s about the greater purpose we’re serving. Find Your Authentic Voice 🎤: Authenticity builds trust and makes your message resonate. Let Go of the Outcome 🌱: Focus on your actions and intentions, and let the results unfold naturally. As we step into September, let’s embrace new beginnings with grace and confidence. Here’s to a month filled with fresh starts and continued growth! 🌟✨ Our new season is just around the corner... at Serenity Now for Entrepreneurs we can't wait to share our latest interviews with you! Stay tuned... #Leadership #Vulnerability #NewBeginnings #PersonalGrowth #Authenticity #SeptemberReflections

💭 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮: Last night, during my evening social media doomscroll, an article popped up on my feed about how embracing mistakes is the key to growth. Contained is the ideology that the act of 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, has the 🅟🅞🅦🅔🅡 to create profound results. 👋🏼 And so, I have to ask: ❓ Why do so many of us accept toxic workplace norms as “just the way things are”? ❓ Why are yelling bosses rationalized as “passionate”? ❓ Why does “be authentic” come with the caveat: 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘷𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦? ❓ Why is a lack of emotional intelligence excused with “It’s business, it's not personal”? ❓ And why are we told to own our actions but never—𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳—make a mistake? 🙋🏼♀️ Is this really what success is supposed to look like? Because it’s 𝙣𝙤𝙩 sustainable. And it’s definitely 𝙣𝙤𝙩 healthy. ☠ Here’s the hard question I’m asking myself—and you: ❔ Why is this acceptable? ❔ What would it take for us to stop normalizing it? There 𝘪𝘴 another way. 💡 A workplace where leadership listens, where mistakes aren’t met with blame and shame, and where respect and dignity aren’t just feel-good words on a mission statement, but a belief system lived from the top down. So, how much longer will you continue to build someone else’s dream while sacrificing who 𝙮𝙤𝙪 are in the process? #FoodforThoughtThursday #OrganizationalHealth #ToxicWorkCulture #StopNormalizingBadLeadership

Does leadership have to feel lonely? As a leader, whether of a team, a company, or your family, it can feel like you’re the one who always has to have the answers. It may seem like there’s no one to share how you really feel, even when you're tired and running on low energy. Your team counts on you, and at home, your family expects your support and presence. At the same time, you may be caring for aging parents and helping friends who rely on you to listen to their problems. You're always there for others. This weight can feel overwhelming. You may tell yourself it's temporary, that it’ll get better after this project or when you hire that new team member. I know the feeling—I’ve been there. I kept pushing through until my body finally stopped me, and I couldn't even get out of bed. After 20 years in corporate life and experiencing burnout three times, I now look back with gratitude, as each time taught me something new. But here’s the good news: You don’t have to go through this alone. There are supportive communities of like-minded people who truly care, and coaches who can offer fresh perspectives. A coach is your biggest fan, helping you uncover blind spots, challenge limiting beliefs, and hold space for your personal growth. And remember the qoute form Wayne Dyer - " If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change " If you're ready to explore how I can support you in the process of transforming your life together, DM me and let’s schedule a call to see if we're a good fit.

SERIES: [5/N] “Overcoming Imposter Syndrome: Shifting the Inner Critic to an Inner Coach” Ever feel like you’re not really as capable as others think you are? That any moment, you’ll be “found out”? That’s Imposter Syndrome, and it affects even the most accomplished professionals. What is Imposter Syndrome? Imposter Syndrome is the persistent feeling of inadequacy despite evidence of success. It’s when your inner critic convinces you that your achievements are due to luck, not skill. How to Shift from Critic to Coach: 💡 Recognize Your Wins List your accomplishments, big and small. This simple exercise helps reinforce that you’ve earned your place through hard work and talent. 💡 Reframe Self-Doubt Turn “I don’t know enough” into “I’m always learning and improving.” This growth mindset helps you see yourself as someone capable of evolving, not lacking. 💡 Self-Compassion Treat yourself the way you’d support a friend. When you mess up, don’t dwell on failure; focus on what you can learn and do better next time. Benefits of Shifting the Mindset: ✅ Boost Confidence: You’ll feel more secure in your skills and accomplishments. ✅ Increase Resilience: A supportive inner voice helps you bounce back from setbacks faster. ✅ Improve Performance: When you believe in yourself, it reflects in your work and relationships. How to Build Your Inner Coach: 🌟 Catch Negative Thoughts When that inner critic appears, ask: “Would I say this to someone I care about?” If not, flip the narrative. 🌟 Surround Yourself with Positivity Engage with peers, mentors, or content that uplifts and inspires you to move beyond self-doubt. 🌟 Celebrate Milestones Acknowledge even small wins to build momentum and silence your inner critic over time. What’s Next: In the next post, we’ll explore Creating a Growth Mindset Culture—how you can foster this environment for yourself and your team. #ImposterSyndrome #SelfTalk #Leadership #Confidence #CareerGrowth #MindsetShift #PersonalDevelopment #OvercomeSelfDoubt

“A word of advice is, when you judge someone, it doesn't define the person that you're judging. It defines you.” - Tulisa This is Human Factors Exploration Week with Human Factors Consulting (HFC). Today our CEO, Brian Kelly, shines the spotlight is on Judgment. What is your relationship with #judgment? Is it healthy? One of my greatest learned lessons is how pointless judging others, or myself, is. First, we do not have the complete picture of what is going on with another person, so when we are judging others, it typically becomes a mirror for what is going on with ourselves. I have found far greater value in noticing when I am in a state of judgment, of others or self, and getting (nonjudgmentally) curious about what this is about. What is it at the root of the judgmental energy I am experiencing? Focus on growing your self-awareness. Second, regarding judging yourself, I learned when I am in a state of judging myself, it becomes more likely that I will judge others. Insidious how that works, isn't it? What an unhealthy and unproductive use of your energy! Your self-talk creates your current reality. Is it healthy? Self-talk reflects self-love. Noticing the language, tone, and energy of your self-talk becomes an important skill to shifting your reality from judgment to something healthier, caring, and useful, such as #acceptance. Acceptance is embracing all of who you are rather than toxically focusing on and criticizing all you are not. Acceptance is when you accept a situation as is without attempting to change or protest it. More on this in our next post. What habits and practices have you developed to grow your self-awareness? Your relationship with judgment? Where might you start? Need support this? Coaching and Human Factors Consulting (HFC) can help. Let's create better together! DM me "shift judgment" to get started with taking your performance, relationships, and fulfillment to the next level! #humanfactorsconsulting #personalgrowth #careergrowth #professionaldevelopment #leadershipdevelopment ---------- Brian Kelly is the Chief Executive Officer at Human Factors Consulting (HFC). Living with My Strengths: The Parallels Between my Personal and Professional Growth Whether we are at home managing family dynamics or leading a team in the workplace, one constant remains: our strengths. The way we apply our natural talents in both personal and professional settings can shape how we lead, connect, and thrive in each role we take on. In my work as a Strengths Coach and in my own life, I’ve seen time and again how embracing a strengths-based approach creates powerful parallels between personal and business success and also fulfillment. Whether we are guiding our children through daily challenges or navigating a strategic business decision, understanding and leveraging our strengths leads to more authentic and often effective outcomes. Here are some key insights that apply both at home and in the office: Self-awareness drives intentionality – When we know our strengths, we approach situations with greater clarity and purpose. We also know what doesnt come naturally and we may need to prompt ourselves to think about. Confidence builds resilience – Using our strengths helps us feel more confident and grounded in who we are, enabling us to weather challenges both in personal life and at work. Empathy and connection – Leading with strengths fosters deeper empathy and understanding with others, whether we are supporting a family member through a tough time or motivating our team to work through another change in direction. Living with strengths is not about separating our personal and professional selves—it’s about aligning both to our natural talents. This creates harmony in how we lead, building success and fulfillment in both areas of life. If you are a parent, as well as an employee. business owner, entrepreneur and interested in exploring how you can live and lead from your strengths at home as well as the workplace? There seems to be more angst and stress in the workplace than usual. Are you feeling unsettled or disconnected? ❇️Too many priorities ❇️Your accountability strategies not working ❇️Feeling stuck ❇️Unable to move forward and grow ❇️Needing something more These have been common topics during my conversations over the past week. The good news is that my clients had the self-awareness to identify they needed help in what they were feeling and going through. ❇️This is the first step toward action to create change and set a new desired outcome. Everyone is impacted differently. What is the same, is the need to tell your story and share what is going on to make you feel unsettled. ❇️It is so healthy and liberating to get your thoughts out of your head and reflect on what you have been experiencing. ❇️Something that is holding you back ❇️Fear of failure ❇️Working with a difficult boss ❇️Unfulfilled in your current role The benefit of a good coaching relationship is being in a safe environment where there is no judgment. It is conversation, questions and your insights that start the process of transformation and gets you to a more productive and healthy mindset. Yes, it takes work to move forward to a better place but: ❇️You make measurable improvements in your performance ❇️You achieve sustainable results ❇️You optimize your engagement and motivation to perform These results are well worth your time, effort and commitment to the process. You feel relief as you play to your strengths, learn more about yourself, new strategies to use going forward and more satisfaction and confidence in what you want to accomplish. That is a powerful recipe for your well-being and business success. If this resonates with you and you are motivated to change the status quo, then take that first step and find the right coaching partner for you. They will keep you on track to reinforce your new behaviors and responses to constant change. #productivemindset, #selfawareness, #stressrelief, #powerfulconversations, #coachingrelationships

I'm pretty sure we often have this in common. Our days are busy, and we’re going through the motions. We’re on auto pilot taking shortcuts rather than time to think hard and make conscious choices. So, what would it look like if you decided to up-level your game? Make a few changes that align with your bigger vision. Ask yourself what you would like to see transform when it comes to how you’re living your life, running your business, managing your people. To take this to the next level, where would you start? Ask yourself what you want to keep and what you would like to let go of. What will you invite in that will push you to that next level? Create a plan and act on it! A few suggestions to get started: > Get clear on your Values! * How to begin ~ Think of values as the compass to guide your decisions and actions in life. Think about moments in your life when you felt most satisfied or proud. What values were present? Maybe your core value is feeling fulfilled helping someone or compassion or empathy for others. > Be more Intentional! * What does this mean? Take actions with purpose and awareness. It also means being conscious of your goals, values, and priorities, and aligning your thoughts and behaviors accordingly. > Do something Great every day! * Have fun with this ~ It could be practicing gratitude (simply saying “thank you”) or doing something nice for someone (take in your neighbor’s trash cans). Or celebrate something or someone with a special treat for yourself or a nice, big hug with a friend or family member. You will begin to act and feel differently. Opportunities start to present themselves, and people will respond differently to you. As a leader, you will bring a fresh new attitude to your workplace and those around you every day. If this is an area of your life you want to work on, let’s talk about how as your coach, I will support you in filling your toolbox with the necessary tools to further develop your management skills and dealing with challenges and change. Message me, and we’ll chat about what that looks like for you.

People Are Who They Are. Why do we try so hard to change others? We are constantly trying to get people to be someone they are not. Get them to think the way we want them to think, feel the way we want them to feel and be who we want them to be. It’s like chipping away at a massive boulder with a hammer. We swing and swing, convinced that if we strike long enough, the boulder will crack. That they’ll finally see things our way, feel what we feel, and become the person we want them to be. But here’s the truth: the harder you strike, the harder the boulder becomes. Push someone to see your perspective? They dig deeper into theirs. Force your way of thinking? They hold on tighter to their own. Try to mold someone into your ideal? They defy you to stay true to who they are. There’s a glaring hypocrisy in this. We demand the freedom to be who we are, yet deny others the same freedom. Life often comes down to two choices: 1️⃣ Accept people for who they are. Let them be their authentic selves. 2️⃣ Walk away. If who they are doesn’t align with you, exercise your right to leave. But the problem is most of us choose a third option: Seeing someone for who they are, disliking it, and hammering away in the hope of reshaping them into our ideal. This option is unfair. Unrealistic. And it never works. If you want to be you, let others be them. Because boulders don’t break under force. They weather naturally with time—and only if they choose to. Do you understand the difference between power and force when it comes to wanting someone to change? Yes or No? Written by @HarryPetsanis and @AnnaAter 📣Exciting News! Empowerhouse Coaching Ever pause to consider the different energies 〰️ people bring into our lives? There’s the ‘superior’ type 👉🏼– you know, the one who always seems to lead with their ego, dismisses alternative viewpoints, and thinks they’ve got it all figured out. Then there’s the ‘inferior’ vibe 😳– perhaps someone who’s talented but feels out of their depth, hesitant to speak up or take risks. But let’s talk about balance⚖️. Imagine being open, 🧐 curious, and willing to own up to our mistakes. In personal relationships, it’s about acknowledging when we’re wrong, truly listening to others, and fostering an environment where vulnerability is met with empathy. At work, it’s about taking responsibility for slip-ups, respecting diverse perspectives, and empowering every team member to contribute their unique insights. When we find that delicate balance, something special happens. Our grounded presence inspires ✨ others to meet us halfway, creating a safe space where authenticity thrives. So let’s strive for that equilibrium, where authenticity reigns supreme and meaningful connections abound. #BalanceIsKey, #AuthenticityWins, #PersonalGrowth, #LeadershipDevelopment, #CareerSuccess, #ProfessionalDevelopment, #BusinessCoaching, #LifeCoach, #ExecutiveCoach, #CareerCoach, #LeadershipSkills, #CareerAdvice, #CorporateLifeCoach, #CareerProgression, #WorkLifeBalance, #MindfulLeadership, #SelfImprovement, #CareerDevelopment, #LeadershipCoaching, #CareerGoals, #PersonalBrand, #SuccessMindset, #ProfessionalGrowth, #ExecutiveDevelopment, #LeadershipTips, #CareerPath, #GrowthMindset, #LeadershipQualities, #CareerChange, #LeadershipJourney

Betrayed? It's actually challenging your values. What would you do? A friend told me he was betrayed by a colleague in business. He held his ground. Led with grace and integrity and came out on top. It got me thinking about values and how they drive our decisions and actions. As I build my coach business - this new Gord 3.0 career - I have been knocking up against my values: ➡ What kind of business do I want to build? ➡ What kind of people do I want to serve? ➡ How do I want to reach them? ➡ How do I want to be seen and heard? ➡ What impact do I want? With my clients, in my coach practice, to get at values, I don’t ask about values. Weird huh? If I ask about values, people get all academic and talk about “collaboration” or “integrity” - like they googled values and chose ones that show up in a Disney movie. They talk like they want to be seen, not how they are. Instead, I have people talk about times when things were going great at work or in their relationships. I also ask about a time when things weren’t going great. And I listen. And I ask - what about that [thing] was important? And they describe it. It's from this place - from hearing what went well and not well - they can see their values in action. And what really matters to them- not some google list. It's way more impactful to connect values with their own stories. They can remember their values more clearly through their own stories. I went back to my values list (yes I have one). Here is what stood out: ✳ Connection, Character & Trust: I need to work with people I can connect with and trust. I need to be able to show my full self and not hide who I am ✳ Learning and Growth: I need to be constantly evolving myself and my craft Those were from 2016 and 2021. It's empowering to see those in writing. So get ready for those things to show up a lot. What do you need to anchor you? You got this. PS. Something fun and exiting coming Monday. Stay tuned... ____ Hi. My name is Gord. I'm a mental fitness coach. - I work with Purpose-Driven Leaders. - I help you get control of your inner voice and get it working for you, not against you. - Then you can really focus on your cause
