My recent article on Data Transfer Impact Assessment in Turkey: Recent Developments for Data Transfer Abroad concludes that understanding, absorbing and implementing the progressive changes in the latest version of the #PersonalDataProtectionLaw is a very critical component of fulfilling necessary obligations in Turkey. In this context, a permission mechanism is introduced for the cross-border transfer of personal data. An adequacy decision and|or approval by the #PersonalDataProtectionAuthority should be provided. A tried system, namely a phased model, is introduced within the clause of cross-border data transfers in Turkey, as clearly reviewed in this article, published in the latest volume of #RevistaAkademike

The European Digital Identity Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2024/1183, (eIDAS 2) entered into force on May 20, 2024. On 30 April 2024, Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union. The regulation mandates EU Member States to provide EU Digital Identity Wallets to citizens within 24 months of Implementing Acts adoption. According to Article 5a, “by 21 November 2024, the Commission shall, by means of implementing acts, establish a list of reference standards and, where necessary, establish specifications and procedures on the implementation of the European Digital Identity Wallet”.
