ARE YOU FACED WITH A CRISIS? The Free Dictionary by Farley defines “crisis" as “a crucial or turning point in the course of something.” It further defines crisis as “an emotionally stressful event or traumatic change in a person’s life." What do you do when that occurs? First, you need to get a right focus. Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB) says, “I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Secondly, you need to put your emotions into check. Don't let your heart be troubled. Isaiah 43:2 (NASB1995) says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.” And thirdly, you need to put your complete trust in God. Psalm 32:7 (NASB1995) says, “You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. “ Watch the video on youtube - https://lnkd.in/gT9gR5SR #wordofencouragement #crisis #crisismanagement

I've come close to losing my faith over the past few years. The pandemic, social unrest, divisive politics, and the endless challenges of ministry have been disorienting. But what has truly shaken me is the response from the faith community in which I was raised. In short, much of it has felt un-Jesus-like. I know I'm not alone. Many of us have felt abandoned due to the lack of compassion and love displayed. As a result, maintaining faith has been a struggle. Getting through it has required four things: 1. Grieving the loss of my fairy tale. 2. Distinguishing between the authentic and cultural Jesus. 3. Exploring new expressions of my faith. 4. Moving toward an experiential theology. The good news is that this fight has been fruitful. If the past few years have tested your faith, this week's edition of The Lighthouse will encourage you. Reading : 1 SAMUEL 2:27-36 A Year: Psalm 21-25 Nas : "Why do you despise My sacrifices and grain offerings which I have commanded in My dwelling? Why do you honor your children more than Me, and all of you fatten yourselves with the best part of each offering um (1 Samuel 2: 29) Who do you respect more? It often happens that parents who are obsessed with their children's happiness may actually be making their children grow into unhappy adults. Not a few children are so spoiled and not equipped to face the real world. Even when children make mistakes, parents often turn a blind eye and neglect to enforce discipline because of feelings of affection. Today we hear how God harshly rebuked the priest Eli. He was rebuked regarding the evil actions of his two sons (1 Samuel 2:17). And this omission by Imam Eli is equated with an act that does not honor God. From the results of Hophni and Phinehas' actions, we can conclude what kind of upbringing the priest Eli gave them. Violation after violation was committed, but the priest Eli had no power to stop it. Parents are the ones who ultimately have to be responsible for the crimes their children commit. The Bible reminds us that we have a great responsibility to teach our children in God's love (Proverbs 13:24). Hopefully what happened in Imam Eli's family will be a lesson for parents not to ignore or even "turn a blind eye" to their children's violations. If we love them, we will chastise them "in time." Parents who love God are parents who are able to apply discipline to their children so that they respect God. -- DOING ABOUT EVIL TO CHILDREN THE SAME AS AN ACT OF DISRESPECT FOR GOD.

#SINCERE MILK: CHILDREN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE SATURDAY JULY 13, 2024TRUST CALMS FEARKEY VERSE: “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” Psalm 56:3TEXT: PSALMS 56:1-4Marlyne was afraid when she heard gun shots again. Most of what she hears nowadays are about shooting, rape, kidnapping, terrorists' attack, earthquake, tornadoes and war. Some are happening very close to her and others in faraway places. Now, before she leaves the house, her mother would spend time to instruct her on what to do in case she finds herself in trouble. Beside these, she is afraid of failure at school and also of misunderstanding at home. Fear is all over the place and no one is really free. But the Psalmist tells us how we can calm our fears. We must trust in God, Who is able to deliver us whenever we are afraid. To trust in God means to believe that in times of danger God will make a way of escape for you. Your enemies may be many, but God is able to save His children from all evil. Pray without ceasing. Ask the Spirit of God to direct you where to go and when to do so. Believe the promises of God and trust in the Lord.PRAYER: Though the world is full of danger, I trust the Lord that He will deliver me from all evil.FURTHER READING: Psalms 23:1-6https://dailymanna.app

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;perseverance, character; and character, hope. https://lnkd.in/g4d7BdCJ
