Great news for Smart Agro Hub! 🌟 (or at least highly promising 😎 ) Despite the increased competition, 2 of our #HorizonEurope #Cluster6 proposals submitted in February successfully made it to the 2nd round! 🎉 I'm happy I wrote the #impact sections in both, but I must note that we’d never have made it without our valuable partners developing excellent Section 1s. 🤝 The new deadlines are in September and I hope it doesn't mean I'll need to take my laptop to the beach 😛 🏖️ ➡ Just one thought: Not really sure if the blind evaluation format helped the research community. I hope a report with facts and statistics is released to see if it favoured smaller / non experienced organisations. In any case, the 2nd round evaluation will not be blind, so what is actually the point? 🤔 #SmartAgroHub #Research #Innovation #agriculture

🌾Here at Alberta Innovates, a challenge equals an opportunity to innovate. That extends to Alberta’s agriculture sector, where we hear from Alberta farmers about the obstacles they encounter and their visions for a better way of doing things as they grow and produce our supplies of food. Then, we support new technologies and methods to devise solutions for food security and sustainable production, feeding a hungry planet now and for years to come. Smart agriculture, using digital technologies and data-enabled decision making, is one area we’re investing in to feed a growing population. Our work in ag spans from idea to implementation: ➡️ Applied research solving real-world problems at InnoTech Alberta, like Susie Li’s infield crop disease sensor. ➡️ Developing and advancing new tech to optimize production and reduce costs through the ABIP program. ➡️ Bringing automated technologies to market with our partners at the Canadian Agri-Food Automation & Intelligence Network (CAAIN). Research shows difficulties like declining land, low productivity, and poor market access are keeping annual growth rates below 10%. But there's hope! Business development services can bridge the gap by: 1. Improving market linkages: Connecting producers with reliable buyers and exploring new revenue streams. 2. Boosting productivity: Implementing best practices to optimize yields and resource utilization. 3. Enhancing financial management: Securing funding and developing strategies for sustainable growth. By addressing these roadblocks, business development empowers agribusinesses to thrive in a competitive landscape. Let's discuss how these services can unlock your farm's full potential! #agriculture #agribusiness #businessdevelopment
