Just working my way through Darren McGarvey's documentaries on BBC iPlayer. Currently, on Class Wars - it frustrates me so much when people say that class doesn't exist in the UK anymore. It seems to me they are the same people who say racism, homophobia, ableism etc. don't exist......because it doesn't affect them. I'm proudly working class. And proudly queer. I've not had the same privileges afforded to those more well-off. (That said, I obviously do recognise my privilege as a white male) I used to, even until quite recently, "posh-up" my accent to try to fit in, to try and gain employment, to try to feel less than. I don't and won't anymore. Those who don't see class as a massive problem, are a huge part of the problem. My family's income, where I was born, my material belongings, how I dress, how I spend my spare time, sports I play..... should not be a precursor to the opportunities given to me and how my life plays out. But the reality is, it does. I, and the rest of the working class, will always have to work hard to prove our worth. And that is entirely unjust. Are we our identity? Or on a deeper level, How did we settle on our identity? It's good to start with WHAT Identity is: It’s how we tell ourselves apart. It’s to have the experience of life and a sense of individuality. Just as actors play roles in movies and shows, we are to an extent actors of our own lives - acting out our identity, because identity is malleable. All of the things that we think we are, are not who we are It’s just how we are, and how we are can change. So to answer the question: No, I don't think we are our identity. I think the layer underneath identity is what we TRULY are, something to touch on tomorrow

Since no one will say it, let me be the bad guy. We see your concern, we hear your good wishes but unfortunately thoughts and prayers won’t solve it. The intentions are good but if it is. It actionable and backed with motion, it is just words. Your good intentions are okay to your targeted neighbors to know you care but if there is no actions, that’s all it will be: intentions. So how do you help: SPEAK UP AND ACT! You know a rioter or an enabler of the riot, report them to the authorities. If you have young relatives or kids participating in these riots, call them to order. Use your privilege and get stuff done. That’s how you fight hate.

There is NOTHING more dangerous and evil than American science-fiction, comic books, and comic book movies! All my life, I have loved science-fiction and comic books. While America did not invent science-fiction, as that honor goes to Jules Verne (France), America has certainly elevated the genre. While America did not invent visual art, comic books along with jazz music, have long been considered true American art forms. And I have always taken great pride in that. But this video has completely changed my world-view, and I admit my error. I now know that science-fiction and comic based media are simply propaganda tools used to spread false ideas and oppress the working masses. For my support of these media and the roll I have played in perpetuating injustice and suppressing the working masses…I humbly apologize. One excellent example given by the commentator is Batman. Batman is often depicted as a hero, defending the victims of crime. Criminals are often depicted as psychotic and dangerous. However, this is clearly wrong, and merely American propaganda. As my little pink comrade points out, Batman is actually a billionaire capitalist, preying on the poor. The portrayed criminals are not psychotic, rather their actions understandable, a direct result of Americas inherently unfair economic system, that results in great income inequality and poverty. Batman is no hero, rather he is the villain!!! A propaganda tool of the capitalist west, to defend its unfair value system. This is but one example. Distributed to an unsuspecting world, America is exporting its degenerate values, it’s absolute moral bankruptcy, it’s twisted worldview. As my little pink comrade points out, the world MUST reject these evil ideas, passed off as “art”. Glory to the people! Long live the peoples revolution! (Satire definitely intended) I understand governments have agendas and a need for messaging. I also understand the role that paid contributors play in that messaging. This girl is VERY entertaining to watch!
