Happy International Women’s Day 2024! Thank you to the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗠𝗔) in 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮. It has been an honour to celebrate this auspicious day with your community. My take on the conversation leaned on the theme “Inspire Inclusion”. For this reason, I based my contribution on the acronym, INCLUSION as follows: 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 - In order to be heard, it is important that you invest in your abilities. 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 - Have a diverse network - who is your network? 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - Be open to collaboration, in order to access resources and opportunities 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 - It is important to understand the unique challenges in the workplace 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 - There must be support structures in the workplace to inspire inclusion 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 - As procurement professionals, integrity is key to support the quality of work in the workplace. 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 - It is important to have opportunities and to say YES to opportunities that will grow us. 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 - Priotising wellness and the nurturing of self and others is key as we advocate for inclusion in the workplace. Jennifer Atanga Akongbota thank you again, I’m looking forward to more collaboration opportunities. Dr Irene Akaab Madam Stella Addo FCIPS, Chartered Dr Renalyn Estiller, Ruba Younes, Chartered MCIPS, PMP, PMI-ACP Sendra Sithole-Murenzvi Chartered (MCIPS) Bala Anusha, you were phenomenal - keep shining. May we remember an African proverb which says that, if want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far - go together! #leadership #iwd2024

International Women's Day is a day of celebration, accountability, and reinforcement. The focus on women's advancement doesn't begin nor end on March 8th, (IWD). Nor can action embracing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) be limited to just one day. IWD, however, does provide a significant and important moment that Virocom recognises to amplify and reinforce their commitment to women's advancement, highlight key steps being taken and reflect on the impact, identify further areas for action and celebrate women's achievements.

Every March, we celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth. This month and always, the SJC Chamber recognizes the many contributions made by women in business and the barriers they continue to break: • In the past five years, total employment by women-owned businesses rose 8%, 1.8% for all other businesses. • 5.4 million firms are majority-owned by women of color in the U.S. • In 2020, women-owned businesses executed 344,000 contracts across the U.S., with 4,591 contracts specifically providing critical COVID-19 support. • In 2021, 1.1 million of all businesses were owned by women. A Black woman transforming health outcomes for Black women, girls, and overlooked groups. Helping orgs move inclusion from initiative to strategy—driving innovation, retention, efficiency, and ROI.
People ask why I founded a whole nonprofit to cater to the needs of Black women domestic violence survivors. Why not all survivors? Why not all women? Why not Black women and men? Because the sad facts are: 1. There are plenty of mainstream direct services that treat most survivors well 2. The numbers of women versus men being preyed upon in DV are higher 3. The history of the perception of Black women causes unsafe environments in the direct services I mentioned in item #1 for Black women 4. Black women either don't know about the services in #1 or won't go because they don't feel safe in those environments 5. 51.3% of Black femicides are due to DV That's why the spaces we curate to empower, comfort, and provide levels of community and healing for Black women are for them alone. They - we - truly need those spaces. Sunday is 2 days away, and we still have a few more tickets left to empower, comfort, and provide community and healing for YOU or Black women YOU know. Please share this before we run out or registration closes tomorrow. #blackwomenheal #empowermentartsshowcase #DVAM 💚
Black women, when we come together and make one sound - the sound of harmony, unity, empowerment and love - I don't want you to miss it. There are still a few tickets left, and registration closes in 24 hours! Snap it up while you still can! https://lnkd.in/gcUiFmbx #BlackWomenHealing #empowermentartsshowcase #blackwomenstimeout

Monday, March 25: First-Gen Mentoring Matters with alumna, Renee Marongwe as we celebrate Women's History Month at the College of Charleston and help our students craft a legacy that really matters in our MSPS and SPECTRA Programs for AALANA students. "If you're curious about next-generation engagement, philanthropic strategies, and impact investing or are eager to discuss how capital deployment can change our world, I invite you to connect with me. Together, we can use capital as a tool for good and craft a legacy that truly matters."
William Blair is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day, recognizing the impact and achievements of women all over the world. We are looking forward to the employee events our Women's Alliance has organized throughout Women's History Month.
