In a world of takers be a giver for once🫂 Giving back has taught me life lessons in more ways than one. I also realised the impact our businesses can have on the local community and take responsibility to give back, and not just focus on doing business. For example, with our Airbnb clients, we donate unopened and in-date food left behind by guests to local food banks. We also donate Books that are left behind to local libraries or “street libraries”. These simple act supports those in need and helps reduce waste in the short-let industry. ( which is more common than you think) I definitely plan to do more to more initiatives related to Ready to Shine cleaning services services and on my own as an individual. use this post as a reminder, to get involved with any initiatives that may help others who are less fortunate than you. The way this world is going, the smallest gesture is enough to make someone smile. ✌🏾 #GivingBack #CommunityImpact #BusinessResponsibility #LifeLessons #Inspiration #readytoshine #cleaningcompany #commercialcleaning #cleaningbusiness #london #essex #whatdoyouthink #giver

Let's get this straight What we often fail to understand about charity and humanitarian acts is that it's not just about; Give and take. It's about; Giving back to the community that shaped us into who we are today. Humanity is everything (Homo Mensura). 🕊️ The turtle dove represents peace. We believe every person deserves the peace that comes from knowing where their next meal comes from… especially during the holiday season. Every dollar donated equates to two meals we can provide to someone in need. Explore ways to give: https://heyor.ca/AbjYq3 #12DaysofGiving #SeasonofGiving

Did you know today, December 3, is National Roof Over Your Head Day? Shelter is something we all view as a basic right—and it should be. In Canada, adequate housing is recognized as a fundamental human right. Yet, for many, shelter feels more like a privilege than a guarantee. If you’re in a position to help, consider making a donation to ease the burden for someone in need. And if offering shelter isn’t feasible, small contributions like donating food or essential items can make a big difference. It allows people to focus on keeping a roof over their heads instead of choosing between eating or paying rent. We all face challenges, but if we’re fortunate enough to lend a hand, even in small ways, we can make the world a little less tough for someone else. #NationalRoofOverYourHeadDay #Shelter #HumanRights #HRProfessional #TalentAcquisition #Recruiter

Relationships and collaboration between school districts and local first responders are crucial, and Troy Burke's post below lends a perfect example of the good will and increased readiness for emergencies that can result when school districts make assets available to first responders for training. Consider: -School districts have schools, buildings and stadiums (many of which are idle during the summer) and fleets of school buses (frequently a few that are decommissioned and headed to salvage). -Both the district and the community depend on first responders to be competent at tactics and familiar with the layout/features of school buildings (and buses) when responding to emergencies. - Police departments need to be familiar with the layout/features of schools and other buildings, and are almost always on the lookout for new buildings for officers to train in/on (building entries & searches, active shooter response, hostage rescue and other tactics). Same for school buses (also to practice emergency entry, hostage rescue and the like). - Fire departments/EMS are also always on the lookout for buildings and vehicles (especially buses) to practice rescue/extrication. It's a win-win where school districts allow first responders to use the district's inventory of buildings and buses for training and exercise purposes. The cost to the district is typically negligible (may have to run the building AC for a day or absorb lower auction sale price of salvage bus), but having first responders with more training "reps" in actual district buildings (or buses) can result in more effective responses during an emergency - a big win for the school district and the community at large. Not sure? Districts and local first responders can quell apprehension and grease the wheels of cooperation by having a thoughtful discussion with appropriate district and local gov't representatives, and working out an MOU that includes things like: 1. Expectations on cleanup and repair of any unintended damage to district property (Sarge, can you please have your guys make sure no simms paint is left on the walls...). 2. Who at the district is authorized to approve a police/fire request to use a building for training and the process to confirm no conflicting district business or event is scheduled in that building. 3. Procedures/requirements to avoid alarm by district staff, students or the community (advance notification that an unusual first responder presence at a district building is for training purposes and not an actual emergency). 4. Expectations for unlocking/locking/setting alarms, etc., in buildings.
Relationships with local first responders is important. The ability to donate a bus to train for events we all hope never happens, benefits all those involved.

It's easy to think "It can't happen here," but the reality is that every county in the country is home to people who face hunger. It's a formidable challenge, but not an insurmountable one. Even so, nobody can #EliminateHunger on their own. That's why we rely on our corporate partners to help us fight hunger where we live. Feeding America tells us that an average meal costs $4.46 in Washtenaw County, yet we're able to provide two meals for every dollar donated. You can help us #EndHungerTogether https://lnkd.in/e6RV23Dy

Today is Tourette’s awareness day, and those who know me will know how important it is for me to raise awareness about Tourette’s. It is a condition that is often misunderstood or not spoken about due to stigma, but impacts my family daily. Being a parent of child with Tourette’s has taught me so much about the condition and opened my eyes to the complex nature and impact it has on an individuals life. I was unaware of how painful Tourette’s could be, involuntary tics and repetitive movements on a daily basis are exhausting. Tourettes Action does fantastic work in raising awareness about the condition, and educating on the things that are often unknown, such as the pain associated with tics. Understanding, awareness and empathy all play a part in creating more inclusion for those with Tourette’s to thrive, and most importantly be seen for who they are, and not just by their tics. #TourettesAwarenessDay #Inclusion #TourettesHurts
Today is international Tourette’s awareness day – 7th June – where we celebrate all the amazing people in our community. Please use this as your profile picture for the day 💚 Here at Tourettes Action we work hard every single day to support those with the condition and those around them to ensure they receive the practical support and social acceptance they need to help them live their lives to the full. If you would like to support our work and help us to continue to support those with Tourette’s and their families, TEXT HURT to 70560 to donate £2. #TourettesHurts #Tourettes #TouretteSyndrome #TourettesAwareness
