🌟 FTM Institute of Automotive Technology TUM continues to shine in the spotlight! A great example of how to build on an #opensource stack (in this case #Autoware from Autoware Foundation) and differentiate and develop based on specific use-case and ODD requirements! #Containerized workloads methodology makes the development and deployment easy. Do you want to create a custom flavor of #Autoware? Do you have distinct #perception #localization #planning and #control modules you want to integrate to Autoware? Stay tuned!
Wiesn Shuttle 2024 - If We Can Make It Here, We Can Make It Anywhere! 🎡🚙 One and a half years ago, we finally got our hands on EDGAR, the new research vehicle of the Technische Universität München. We started at the very beginning, and over the past months, our incredibly talented team of Research Associates spent countless hours assembling all the necessary ingredients for success: 📷 Synchronizing and calibrating our complex sensor setup 🌆 Establishing a real-time 3D simulation environment 💾 Setting up a data center to handle the massive amounts of data collected during our test runs 💻 Implementing a modular software stack based on Autoware Foundation With these foundations in place, we could finally shift our focus to the development of AV algorithms. We worked tirelessly on our track next to the Oktoberfest, overcoming various challenges, e.g. 🗺 In-house generation of HD maps 🚋 Perception of uncommon objects (rickshaws, trams, etc.) 🚶♂️ Motion-Prediction of large groups of pedestrians 🕹 Integration of our teleoperation software to handle corner cases that our AV software isn’t quite ready for (yet) Last week, everything finally came together (https://lnkd.in/dn_F9hUW). We had the opportunity to showcase all our progress to Markus Blume, Dieter Reiter, Clemens Baumgärtner, Sabine Effner, Thomas F. Hofmann, the media, and the public - and we couldn’t be more proud of EDGAR’s ability to navigate safely through such a complex environment! A huge shoutout to the team for their dedication and perseverance - it’s an amazing feeling to see all the hard work paying off! If you haven’t had a chance to ride with EDGAR at Wiesn, don’t worry! Come visit us at the Open House Campus Garching on October 3rd (https://lnkd.in/dWPfPU_5) to experience the future of mobility! #AutonomousDriving #AV #Teleoperation #Autoware #EDGAR

Ph.D. Kirk J. Schneider - KONGRESS 2025 SALZBURG Countering the Polarized Mind: The Promise of Experiential Democracy Dialogue Freitag, 02.05.2025, 16.30–17.15 Uhr, Plenarsaal/Live-Stream This presentation will address the growing problem of what I term the „polarized mind.“ The polarized mind is the fixation on a single point of view to the utter exclusion of competing points of view, and it is destructive of our personalities as well as our societies. I will describe the nature and implications of the polarized mind for individual and societal functioning. Second, I will propose a promising alternative to the polarized mind based on the cultivation of presence. https://lnkd.in/diAGT82B

Good discussion on electric charging infrastructure but the main point here is that NEVO are bringing EV vehicles to the public and breaking down any remaining negative perceptions about EV vehicles - this event had a fastastic positive energy and major buy in from manufacturers. Great vehicles on display of all shapes and sizes and prices so well done all.
Gearing up to hear from the panel on the Nevo stage. @SimonAndreucetti Talking #publiccharging with our own Brendan Crowley
