Origin of scrum: Did you know that the scrum originated from Rugby? Similar to Rugby, through scrums, different teams compete with each other to make the organization successful. Even though the perspectives might have changed over time, that was the beginning of scrums. It's also about the flexibility and scalability that help any product at earlier stages to achieve its goals. #uxdesign

🏉 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 🚀 Did you know that the term "𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺" in Agile methodology has its roots in the sport of rugby? 🤔 Let's explore this fascinating connection! In rugby, a "scrum" is a formation where players bind together and work as a unit to gain possession of the ball. 🏆 This concept of teamwork and collective effort inspired the creators of the Scrum framework in Agile. 📈 The idea was first introduced by Hirotaka Takeuchi and Ikujiro Nonaka in their 1986 Harvard Business Review article "The New New Product Development Game." 📘 They observed that successful product development teams function similarly to a rugby team, working closely together towards a common goal, adapting to changes, and continuously improving. Jeff Sutherland and Ken Schwaber later formalized this idea in the early 1990s, creating the Scrum framework we know today. 🌟 By incorporating the principles of collaboration, flexibility, and iterative progress from rugby, they developed a powerful approach to managing complex projects and delivering high-quality products. Scrum has transformed the way teams work across various industries, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, communication, and adaptability. 🌍 So, next time you think of Scrum, remember its roots in the dynamic and collaborative spirit of rugby! 🏉 #Scrum #Agile #Rugby #ProjectManagement #Teamwork #Innovation

Let's understand Sprint Goal and Product Goal in Scrum using Cricket analogy: 🏏🎯 Be it a game of cricket or your project, setting goals is like strategizing for success on the field. 🏆 👉 Sprint Goal: Sprint Goal is for the current Sprint. Just like the current match in cricket, it's all about short-term targets. It's the game plan for the current innings, focusing on immediate wins and milestones. 👉 Product Goal: Product Goal is for the entire product. Think of it as the grand vision for the tournament. It's about the long-term strategy, aiming for the championship title by consistently delivering quality performances throughout the series. In cricket or in projects, having both Sprint and Product goals ensures a balanced approach towards achieving success! 🏆 #CricketMetaphor #Goals #StrategySuccess #scrum #agile

Agile is not just about speed; it’s about achieving both speed and precision. I have drawn an analogy with tennis to explain this concept further. Your thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated in the comments ! 🙏 https://lnkd.in/g2bBfhK8

🏅 Scrum as an Olympic Sport: The Agile Relay Race Ever imagined Scrum as an Olympic sport? Let's dive into the thrilling world of a relay race, where the essence of teamwork, coordination, and agility shines brightly. 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️ In a relay race, much like in Scrum, every team member plays a crucial role in the collective success. Each sprinter, akin to a Scrum team member, must excel individually while maintaining perfect synchronization with the rest of the team to win the race. 🥇 While each member of the team runs a different part of the race, they all know that winning depends on who runs through the finish line. A very popular complaint among several Agile teams I have worked with in the past is “Hand-offs.” There are so many hand-offs and things could get dropped. Understanding the clear goal and knowing exactly who to hand the baton to next is crucial. Additionally, it's essential to recognize that the race isn't over until the goal is achieved, even if you've technically completed your part. Organizing the team to optimize everyone's skills ensures a smooth and efficient journey to the finish line. While we run this race, let’s remember that we all get the medals. 🏅 #Scrum #Agile #Olympics #RelayRace #ContinuousImprovement #Teamwork #KaizenVibes #AgileCommunity What other sports do you think embody Scrum principles? Share your thoughts! 🗣️
