Not only does good copy appeal to potential buyers in your target market, it signals non-buyers to move on. Spending time and money on people who don't want or need your offer is a waste of resources. #Copywriting #Marketing #Advertsing #Sales
This is great- clients and writers alike need reminding of this every so often.
Yet another reason why being clear on who your audience is is so important. (And why being firm with your clients that 'everyone' is NOT their audience matters.)
At last, a cat litter dog owners will love! A surprise in every bag! No dog owner -- or dog! -- can resist it! (To Product Design -- please make something that works like this)
Nor can the best copy in the world sell steaks to vegetarians.
Totally agree Scott. It's about attracting who needs what you're offering. The more clear you are, the easier people can find what they need and what they don't need.
Yes!!! It’s as much about eliminating the wrong audience as it is about attracting the right one.
That's why clicking on ads that have nothing to do with you is so funny. All my ads have been men's suits for like 3 years. Put in cart then ghost. Hehe
Reminder - we all need to read everyday!
The absolute truth! Focus all your resources on the people who will spend their money with you -- and ignore the noise. Awesome post here Scott Frothingham

5moThat's why when testing an offer email I judge it by 3 initial metrics: - Click through rate. - Total money made. - Total time spent on back & forth. If the offer is sent to 100 people, 10 take action by replying with a keyword, and 3 buy with out pushback, I see it as a success. If 5 buy, but 2 of them require 2-3 back-and-forth emails I write it off as a failure and clarify the offer.
