I keep having candidates drop. Why me?! I wanted to share a challenge I've faced previously as a recruiter: candidates dropping out at the last minute. It's frustrating, but it can also be part of the recruitment journey. There are ways to ensure this doesn’t keep happening, here’s what I’ve done: 1. I've refined my screening process to ensure candidates truly align with the role and company culture. This involves deeper conversations about their motivations and long-term goals. 2. I maintain transparent communication with both clients and candidates, by setting clear expectations from the start it helps avoid misunderstandings and last-minute surprises. 3. I focus on building stronger relationships with candidates. Understanding their needs and concerns helps me address potential issues before they escalate. 4. I offer flexibility and support throughout the recruitment process to help candidates feel more secure in their decisions. 5. I start listening to my gut. I stopped trying to fit square blocks into circles. If I feel uncertain, I either don't progress with that candidate or dig deeper to assess any potential deal threats. By trusting my instincts and continuously refining my approach, I've seen a significant reduction in dropouts and a higher success rate in placements If you've experienced similar challenges, I'd love to hear your strategies for overcoming them! #AgnesCole #Recruitment #TrustYourGut #Intuition

Every successful career in recruitment starts with constant listening and learning 📚 Recently, a client asked me : "How many years of experience do I have in recruitment?" Is that really the only factor that matters for a successful collaboration? As a recruiter, I believe that experience isn't measured only in years. It is also shaped by every interaction, every candidate we guide, and every company we help to grow. 🌟 The skills, passion, and empathy we bring to our work every day are just as crucial. It is by combining these elements that we can build strong partnerships and succeed together. 🤝✨ Let’s not forget that every small step, every effort contributes to something greater. If today we feel like we are moving small stones, tomorrow we might be moving mountains. 🏔️ And you, how do you perceive the importance of experience in your field? #Recruitment #Career #Experience

If you’re considering a career in recruitment, let me share a little insight into what it means to me. Recruitment has brought a sense of fulfilment to my life. For me, it’s not about chasing the next dollar or finding the easiest candidate to place. The true satisfaction comes from building meaningful relationships with both candidates and clients, and having genuine, productive conversations with them. The joy is in the sense of accomplishment I feel when I successfully connect a client with the perfect candidate. It’s about making that ideal match. It’s may not be for everyone, but if it is for you, it’s incredibly rewarding.

🎯 3 Key Focus Areas for Building Long-Lasting Relationships as a Recruiter As recruiters, our role goes beyond filling positions. It's about building meaningful relationships with candidates and employers. Over the past years in IT recruitment, I’ve discovered that these three focus areas make a significant difference: 1️⃣ Empathy in Communication: Understanding a candidate's aspirations and challenges builds trust. It’s not just about asking questions but truly listening to their story. 2️⃣ Transparency in Processes: Being clear about timelines, feedback, and next steps makes candidates feel valued and informed. For instance, when a candidate isn’t selected, delivering the message with kindness is crucial. Instead of saying, "You've been rejected," I prefer something like: "The team has decided to move forward with another candidate for this role. However, this does not take away from your skills and potential. Keep applying and growing—you’re doing great, and the right opportunity is ahead!" Encouragement can make a big difference. 3️⃣ Consistent Follow-Ups: Even after placements, staying in touch shows that you genuinely care about their journey. It strengthens professional bonds and creates opportunities for referrals. What’s your go-to strategy for building strong recruiter-candidate relationships?💭 #Recruitment #CareerGrowth #Networking #TalentManagement

Two recent successes shared by Barry Collins, that emphasise the importance of proactive recruitment. Collins Property Recruitment focus on building partnerships with clients AND candidates, which allows us to successfully make these speculative introductions. #collinspropertyrecruitment #recruitment #successfulrecruitment #propertyrecruitment #success
I'm delighted to share two recent successes that emphasises the importance of proactive recruitment and true collaboration. This month, I've facilitated two notable hires that demonstrate the value of leveraging networks and trusting in professional relationships. Although initially not having the right job when I first met these two candidates, I recognised their potential and introduced them speculatively to clients that aligned with their expertise and aspirations. The outcome? Both candidates secured positions exceeding their expectations within just two interviews. While some might view this as elementary, for me it highlights a proactive attitude often lacking in recruitment. Instead of waiting for the right job to surface, recruiters should actively engage their networks to create opportunities for their candidates. If your recruiter isn't demonstrating this level of commitment, it may be worth reconsidering your partnership. Recently, I had the pleasure of helping an old candidate I met months ago. We hit it off immediately back then, and our continued relationship paid off when they reached out for guidance and support. This experience reminded me of the importance of building and maintaining relationships in recruitment. 🌟 As recruiters, our job goes beyond simply filling roles. It's about creating meaningful connections with our candidates. Why is this important? - Trust and Communication: when candidates trust us, they feel comfortable reaching out for guidance and support. - Long-term Partnerships: staying in touch allows us to understand their evolving goals and aspirations, enabling better matches for future opportunities. - Continuous Growth: by investing in these relationships, we create a network of talented individuals who rely on us throughout their careers. - Mutual Benefits: a strong relationship means candidates can ask for help when needed, and we can provide them with the best opportunities, creating a win-win situation. Remember, it's not just about the next placement. It's about building a community of professionals who know they have a trusted partner in their career journey. Let’s make recruitment more than just a transaction. Let’s make it a lasting connection. 🤝 #Recruitment #CareerGrowth #TalentManagement #RelationshipBuilding #Trust #Networking

🔗 Why Transparency Matters in the Recruitment Process 💼✨ As a recruitment consultant, my primary goal is to represent you—the candidate—in the best possible light, while ensuring you find a role that aligns with your skills and aspirations. But here's a secret to making this partnership even more successful: transparency about your other applications and interviews. Here’s why being upfront about your ongoing job search helps us help you: 👉 Strategic Alignment: Knowing where else you're interviewing allows us to focus on opportunities that are a better fit and prioritize roles that align with your goals. 👉 Time Management: Hiring timelines can vary greatly. If we’re aware of other processes you’re involved in, we can communicate your availability and interest to clients more effectively. 👉 Stronger Negotiation: If you're at the offer stage with another employer, we can advocate for a quicker turnaround or a competitive offer from the client we’re representing. 👉 Building Trust: Open communication fosters a stronger partnership. When we know the full picture, we can represent you with confidence and authenticity. Remember, being transparent doesn’t mean you’re compromising opportunities—it means you’re ensuring the right doors open at the right time. And as your recruitment consultant, I’m here to guide and support you through that journey. What are your thoughts? Have you experienced how transparency in the job search has made a difference? Let’s discuss in the comments! #Recruitment #CareerAdvice #Transparency #JobSearch Mechanical Partners
