Broke bread with Greg Hybl last night for our annual Christmas dinner that we’ve been celebrating together for a number of years. Greg and I have uniquely worked together over the years across three different corporate stops. We first worked together when we were 22 years old as financial management program trainees with GE at NELA Park in Cleveland, Ohio. Greg actually trained me through three of the six month job rotations, including a role overseas in Budapest, Hungary. We’d later end up by coincidence a few cube rows away at Dell Technologies during the growth hay day of the Company. We’d have one more overlap at American Express that had us settle our families in New Jersey allowing us to create this holiday dinner tradition. It had me thinking that companies are what their people make of them. And those people are what creates the connections to the companies for us. I’ve been blessed to work multiple times with a number of others - I’ve tagged them below - and many have become close friends. So, these corporate journeys leave behind not only amazing experiences, but also relationships that leave an imprint, and in some cases continue to do so. In this holiday season, let’s remember to reach out to those many colleagues to wish them a happy and healthy holiday season and appreciate what they’ve brought to each of us in our lives.
