🌟 **Why a Recruiter with a Master's in Psychology?** 🌟 I often get asked why I chose a career in recruitment despite holding a Master's degree in Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing. The answer is simple: they are more connected than you might think! 🤔💡 🎓 **My Journey**: During my studies, I gained deep insights into human behaviour, motivation, and emotional wellbeing. These skills are incredibly valuable in recruitment, where understanding people is at the heart of everything we do. 💼🧠 🤝 **How They Link**: 1. **Empathy and Understanding**: My psychology background helps me empathise with candidates, understanding their motivations, fears, and aspirations better. This means I can match them to roles where they will truly thrive. 🌱✨ 2. **Communication Skills**: Effective communication is crucial in both psychology and recruitment. My training allows me to connect with candidates and clients on a deeper level, ensuring clear, honest, and supportive interactions. 🗣️💬 3. **Assessment and Analysis**: Just as psychology involves assessing mental health, recruitment involves assessing skills, cultural fit, and potential. My analytical skills help me make informed decisions that benefit both candidates and employers. 📊🔍 4. **Conflict Resolution**: Understanding conflict dynamics and resolution strategies helps me manage challenging situations and mediate between parties, ensuring smooth and positive outcomes. 🛠️🤝 5. **Wellbeing Focus**: I bring a focus on mental wellbeing into the workplace, advocating for environments that support mental health, which leads to happier, more productive teams. 🌟😊 🌍 **The Bigger Picture**: In a world where work is a significant part of our lives, ensuring that people find roles that fulfill them and support their wellbeing is incredibly rewarding. My background in psychology gives me the tools to make a meaningful impact in the recruitment industry. 🌈💼 So, if you're ever wondering why someone with a psychology background chose recruitment, remember: it's all about connecting, understanding, and helping people find their place in the world. 🌟🔗 #Recruitment #Psychology #CareerJourney #MentalHealth #Wellbeing #Empathy #Communication #ConflictResolution #HumanResources #LegalJobs #LegalRecruitment

Not a single person is born with the ability to complete every task perfectly the first time. We all must be willing to humbly accept our limitations and reach out for help or to learn to move forward. Whether learning a new professional skillset or a new way to process priorities, stress, or mental health, it all stems from vulnerability. The job search process is one of the most vulnerable moments anyone will experience. It's a delicate balance of relaying strengths while avoiding overconfidence. A key reminder for candidates is to listen intently and be clear in responses, ensuring quality interactions. Remember, for every moment you speak, give 2 to really listen and ask questions to dive deeper. #CareerAdvice #JobSearchTips

On 10/25, I had the pleasure of serving as a mental health expert at Intry's Career Accelerator for jobseekers. The job search process can be grueling, frustrating, overwhelming, and demotivating. It's no wonder that jobseekers are stressed and burnout out. It's so important to prioritize mental health and wellbeing during the job search process for the following reasons: 1) Stress management and burnout prevention 2) Building resilience from rejection 3) Boosting confidence and motivation 4) Enhancing mental clarity and focus for improved productivity 5) Improving communication for networking and interviews 6) Maintaining health and wellbeing If you're a frustrated, stressed out jobseeker, in need of guidance, direction, and emotional support in navigating today's competitive job market, stay tuned for more information regarding Intry's January Virtual Career Accelerator Bootcamp. Wow! Someone released a STUDY (via Elon University) on the ghosting effect in the job market. This is much needed but also...WTF and this shouldn't even be a thing. "Research suggests that both applicants and organizations may withdraw from the recruitment and selection process without notice. This behaviour, referred to as ‘ghosting’, is prevalent yet empirical research on this topic is unfortunately scarce. To gain greater clarity, the current study examines the antecedents of applicant ghosting behaviour, which we place within the nomological network of maladaptive workplace behaviour."

🚨 A Word of Caution for Job Seekers 🚨 It’s disheartening when a workplace that once drained your mental well-being is back on the market, ready to repeat the cycle with a new candidate. If you value your mental health, emotional well-being, and work-life balance, I encourage you to do thorough research before diving into any opportunity. A job should challenge you, yes, but not at the expense of your peace and happiness. For anyone looking at positions “HR Manager”, please remember that: ⚔️ Interviews go both ways ❓Ask questions 📌Prioritize transparency. 🖇️Make sure the environment aligns with your values. Your career is important, but nothing is worth sacrificing your mental health. #MentalHealthMatters #JobSeekers #WorkplaceWellbeing #HR #KnowYourWorth

🌟Recruiter's Dilemma: Embracing Candidates on a Therapeutic Journey, To Hire or not to Hire?🌟 Imagine that you are a recruiter and a candidate during their interview discloses the fact that they seek therapy. Would you see this as a red flag or a green flag and most importantly would you be willing to hire them? When a candidate reveals during a job interview that they are seeking therapy, it can be considered a green flag for several reasons: 🟢Self-awareness and Emotional intelligence: The candidate is aware of their mental health needs and is proactive in addressing them. This shows a level of self-reflection, emotional intelligence and understanding that can be valuable in a professional setting. 🟢Commitment to Personal Development: Seeking therapy indicates a commitment to personal growth and continuous improvement, qualities that are beneficial in any employee. 🟢Stress Management: It suggests that the candidate has strategies in place for managing stress and maintaining mental well-being, which can contribute to better performance at work. This in turn ensures reduced examples of burnout. 🟢Openness: It demonstrates openness and honesty, which are key components of effective communication and teamwork. 🟢Resilience: Engaging in therapy can be seen as a step towards building resilience, as it often involves developing coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills. ✅A candidate who is open enough to talk about their vulnerabilities and is keen on working on themselves is definitely a crucial addition to your organisation. ✅A candidate who is proactively working on managing their emotions is the one who will be able to give their 100% to the organisation ✅Let us normalise the mental health conversation at our workplace and see vulnerability as a quality to look out for. After all, it takes a great amount of strength to be vulnerable. #therapy #hiring #recruiting #HR #humanresources #interview #psychology #counseling #bookasession #mentalhealth Serenity Wellness by Yashvi Prakash
