A/B testing is important...but where should I start? (Jamie Pagan and I have started to post "building in public" style content on a regular basis) In the coming weeks my plan is to double down on landing page testing for Google Ads. I did several tests already in the past, but there was never a real "system" or plan in place to do it. And we all know what happens, when there is no system or plan behind something! In most cases it's not being done. For a few weeks already I had this urge to do something about it. So I kept asking myself...what first step will I have to take to get me started? My initial thought was: "Ok, let's make sure my Google Ads Account structure is optimised, so I have enough data once I do really start setting up tests regularly." - and BOOM! - I managed to re-structure my campaigns to make exactly that happen ✅ But even after taking this step, the task "Test landing pages regularly to improve conversion rates" was too large for me to just go ahead and start. So I kept asking, how can I break this down so it's more manageable and a clear "action plan" emerges? Well, last week I came up with the solution - why not just start with 1) a workshop session to write down all the components a landing page contains 2) ranking them by potential impact on the conversion rate Once all the components are listed and ranked, I simply have to work through the list and start testing! Lesson learnt from this one? If there's a huge task before you, break it down into it's most simple form and start executing! 🚀 Happy Monday ☀

Hey there, marketing newbies! Fresh out of those university trenches (congrats, by the way!) 👨🎓 You're probably eager to conquer the exciting world of Marketing. But just like conquering exams, success here requires continuous learning. Let me tell you about a technique I learned today that separates the good email senders from the great: A/B testing. Imagine you're baking the perfect batch of cookies. You have a recipe (your email template), but you're unsure if chocolate chips or chopped nuts will be a hit (your subject line or call to action). A/B testing lets you bake two batches (two email variations) and see which gets devoured first (gets more engagement). Here's how it works: 🍪 Pick Your Battleground: Decide what element you want to test. Subject line? Call to action button? Maybe the email's design? 🍪 Craft Your Challengers: Create two versions of your email with slight variations in your chosen element. Keep everything else the same – it's a fair fight! 🍪 Split the Squad: Don't send both versions to everyone. Divide your email list into two random groups. Each group gets a different challenger email. 🍪 Let the Games Begin! Send those emails and track the results. See which version gets more opens, clicks, or conversions (your win condition!). So, what can you A/B test? Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing: 🥟 Subject Lines: Test emojis vs. no emojis, questions vs. statements, or short and punchy vs. informative. 🥟 Call to Action (CTA) Buttons: Try different colors, button text, or placement to see what gets clicked the most. 🥟 Content & Design: Experiment with personalization, image styles, or even video vs. text. A/B testing isn't about fancy formulas; it's about understanding your audience. By testing different elements, you learn what resonates with them, ultimately boosting your email marketing game. Remember, A/B testing is your friend. It helps you improve your email campaigns, gain valuable insights, and ultimately, bake those marketing cookies to perfection! 😉 If you wish to learn more about A/B testing, check out this link- https://lnkd.in/edPbi7p6 #TodayILearn #EmailMarketing #DigitalMarketing #CampaignOptimization

Your headline isn't just a few words—it's one of your most powerful tools for driving conversions. In fact, a strong headline can boost your conversion rate by up to 10x. But here's the catch - it has to do three things right: ✅ Grab attention ✅ Make a promise ✅ Speak directly to a pain point For example, instead of saying, “Our software helps you manage projects,” try something like, “Get more done in half the time & without the stress.” See the difference? It's specific, benefit-focused, and addresses what your audience actually cares about. And if you're not testing your headlines through A/B testing, you could be missing out on what resonates best with your audience. Headlines are powerful. Are yours working hard enough? I've created a FREE guide with essential landing page tips to help you convert more customers. Comment 'HEADLINE' and I'll send over our free guide to you right away. 👇🏻

Do you even test bro? 🏋️ Testing is one of those buzzwords that is often thrown around during marketing meetings. But how many companies truly test things? Testing is great, and you should do it. Period. No arguing that. But what gives me chills is when somebody asks how many tests you do a month. Or has a KPI of tests run. I mean, common:). Google Ads has a built-in testing feature, and if you haven't used it, you should start. Like Today. Is it great? Well 🙃. But it's free and right there under your nose. A/B testing is so yesterday 🤣 A1/A2 is what the cool kids are doing 👇🏻 With a creative/copy test what we are trying to achieve in its simple form is to identify what element makes the customer metric* we are testing better. (*hook, CTR, ROAS, sale vol, rev etc). The classic problem with A/B testing is that there are usually multiple changes made from version A to B. Lots going on. So we may indeed get an improved response, but exactly what has worked is very difficult to see clearly. What A1/A2 testing does is force you to focus on 1 difference at a time from version A1 to A2. That way you know EXACTLY what has made the impact. Q. Who cares as long as we see a winner? A. Well without knowing what has produced the winning individual elements, you could end up testing the same element over and over. Instead of testing elements that haven't been checked before. We're trying to eliminate poorer aspects of the image/copy until we are left with a final version containing only elements that we have proven work. Does this make any sense all? I've re-written it numerous times and can't seem to get my point across well enough in my own mind 🤣 Let me know. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We build your ads, set up and run your Meta account for FREE for 30 days. 95% of you get stuck at the strategy stage. Waiting for perfection that doesn't exist. Here's what I advise my clients; 1. Have a starting point you're happy with (not perfect) 2. Test it and talk to your ideal customers 3. Gather data and optimise 4. Repeat 2 and 3 until you're f**king bored This applies to: - Your content strategy - Your service and offer - Your ideal customer profile Marketing is about becoming familiar. Building awareness. That requires you to be repetitive. Are you fed up and not sure if what you're doing is correct? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've started working 1:1 with a handful of ambitious founders who are looking to achieve more from their marketing. For some people it's looking at their offering and messaging, helping them create an inbound and outbound new business funnel. For others, it's helping them find a trusted delivery partner to assist them with campaigns or projects. 🚀 The Power of A/B Testing: 5 Tests That Doubled Our Conversion Rates Hey Growth Hackers! I wanted to share some game-changing A/B tests that will blow your mind Buckle up! 1️⃣ Call-to-Action Button Color Sounds simple, right? Unbounce, a landing page platform, conducted a famous A/B test on button colours that's often cited in marketing circles. They tested a green call-to-action (CTA) button against a red one. Contrary to popular belief that green (often associated with "go" or positive action) would perform better, the red button outperformed the green button by 21% in click-through rates. Color psychology is real, folks! 2️⃣ Poster Headline We tested "Workshop by IITians" vs. "Learn from Top 1% IITians". The latter boosted sign-ups by 87%. Specificity sells! 3️⃣ Social Proof Placement Moving testimonials above the fold? 112% more conversions. People trust people, not promises. 4️⃣ Email Subject Line Personalization Adding the recipient's name increased open rates by 96%. It's all about making it personal. 5️⃣ Checkout Page Simplification: Expedia noticed that many users were abandoning their bookings during the checkout process. Upon investigation, they found that a field in their checkout form was confusing: the "Company" field. Many users were unsure whether to fill in their employer's name or the name of the hotel they were booking. This confusion was leading to form abandonment and lost sales. Removing "Company" led to a staggering $12 million increase in profit per year. The key takeaway? Never assume. Always test. These small tweaks led to massive gains. Ever wonder why some landing pages convert like crazy while others fall flat? 👉 The secret lies in A/B testing. ✅ A/B testing is your go-to method for fine-tuning these changes and boosting #conversionrates. Whether you're a seasoned #marketer or just starting, mastering A/B testing can be your secret weapon. Here’s how to do it: 1. Define Your Conversion Goal: Start understanding what you want to achieve. Is it more sign-ups, higher click-through rates, or increased #sales? Your goal will guide your entire testing process. 2. Set Up Conversion Tracking Tools: Tools like #Google Analytics, Hotjar, or dedicated A/B testing platforms are essential. They help you measure the performance of different variants and track user behaviour effectively. 3. Determine the Right Timing and Traffic: Timing is crucial. Ensure your test runs during a period when you have a consistent flow of #traffic. This ensures that your results are statistically significant and not just a fluke. 4. Formulate a Hypothesis: Before diving into testing, observe your current landing page's performance. What do you think could be improved? Maybe it’s the headline, the CTA, or even the colour scheme. Formulate a hypothesis based on these observations. 5. Run the experiment: Now, it’s time to put your hypothesis to the test. Create two versions of your landing page—Version A (the control) and Version B (the variation). Split your traffic between the two and let the experiment run its course. 6. Analyse the Results and Deploy: Once the experiment concludes, analyze the data to see which version performed better. If your hypothesis was correct, implement the winning variant as your new landing page. 6. Rinse and Repeat: A/B testing isn’t a one-time task. Continuous testing and optimization are key to keeping your landing pages performing at their best. ✔ By systematically testing and optimizing your landing pages, you’ll uncover insights that lead to better user experiences and, ultimately, higher conversion rates. Keep experimenting, learning, and refining—because in digital marketing, there’s always room for improvement. #ABTesting #LandingPages #ConversionOptimization
