Average Gift Amounts: After a rise in 2022, the average gift size saw a slight dip this year but continued the general trend of larger individual contributions compared to earlier years. While others are motivated to give on Giving Tuesday. $3.1 billion was given in 2023 on Giving Tuesday. Don't miss out on your org's slice of that. -> Warm up: Warm up your audience NOW for Giving Tuesday by including a "Save The Date" in your newsletter this week and posting to social media. -> Matching Gift: If possible, get a match for Giving Tuesday and use that as a motivator for people to give to your org on this day! 💡 What if you asked for $85 LESS per donor...and raised $32,475 more? I just ran the numbers on two different approaches, starting with 100 donors: ➡️ One-time gifts ($100): $14,700 over 3 years ➡️ Monthly gifts ($15): $47,175 over 3 years Yes, you read that right. The monthly program generated 3.2x more revenue - even though we asked for 85% LESS per gift. Why do we do this? Because: 1. One-time gifts feel bigger upfront 2. We're under pressure to meet immediate needs 3. Change is hard, and our systems are built around annual giving But here's what we're missing: 1. Monthly donors have an 85% retention rate (vs 35% for one-time donors) 2. Predictable revenue means better planning and stronger programs 3.
