I think every Big Tech/Entertainment executive going to Cannes should have to bring one person whom they have had to lay off from their company for "cost-saving purposes", all expenses paid, and help them network and find a new job while there. The laid off employee also gets to approve every expense they incur while in Cannes - "sorry, Bob, I know you really want the La Chapelle Gordonne Tête de Cuvée Rosé 2022, but have you tried the Franzia Sunset Blush? Don't let the box fool you, you will love it, and so will your shareholders!"
Are you going?

100000000000% dead on (Scott, was that enough 0's?), few things about the ad industry make me want to vomit more than the subject of Cannes. "Sorry we had to let you go today, but I'm more than happy to help you find a new job as soon as I get back from drinking champagne on a yacht in the south of France". It'd be amazing to see a chart of a company's total expense to be at Cannes vs. the amount of people they've laid off over the past 12 months. where are my data scientists at!!

As a laid off employee I am fully available to serve in this capacity.
I'm waiting for the sustainability report on this one.
This post wins today.
Scott loved your comment. You got me with the details of wine brands. lol. But your sage advice of how to take care of and navigate future steps of those laid off? Hypothetically heading to Cannes? Brilliant. It’s cathartic to just hear your words. 🙌👍
I already thought this post was 🔥, and then i read the comments!
