As of 2024, Tesla has delivered approximately 1.81 million battery electric vehicles (BEVs), while BYD's total sales, including both BEVs and plug-in hybrids, reach around 3.76 million new energy vehicles (NEVs). BYD holds a 36% share of the Chinese NEV market, compared to Tesla's 13.2% global BEV market share. BYD's competitive pricing and diverse offerings drive its growth, while Tesla focuses on premium models. Overall, BYD is gaining momentum and may surpass Tesla in total vehicle sales by the end of the year. #ElectricVehicle #EV #ElectricCars #BYD #Tesla #SustainableTransport #CleanEnergy #ElectricMobility #GreenTechnology #FutureOfTransport

⚡️ Who's Ruling the EV Market in 2024? 👑 1. BYD: With a 21% market share and 1.2 million EVs sold, they’re leading the pack! Of those, 580,974 are fully electric (BEV), with most of the growth coming from plug-in hybrids (PHEV)! 📈🚗 2. Tesla: Holding 11% of the market, Tesla sold 625,600 fully electric vehicles! Still the king of pure electric cars. 👑⚡️ 3. BMW: Coming in 3rd with 212,300 EVs sold, BMW is nailing the transition to electric within the premium car space! 🚗💼 4. Other major players include Wuling, Volkswagen, Li Auto, and Mercedes, all pushing hard in the top spots! 🏎️💥 🚗 My take: In the first half of 2024, BYD is making waves with their PHEVs while Tesla holds strong in the pure EV market. As more manufacturers join the electric revolution, the competition is heating up! The real question is: who will come out on top next? This race is far from over! 🔥 #EV #BYD #Tesla #BMW #ElectricCars #FutureOfMobility #AutoIndustry #EVMarket

The global automotive market is undergoing a significant transformation, with hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) emerging as a compelling alternative to pure electric vehicles (EVs). This shift in consumer preference has propelled #BYD to overtake #Tesla in quarterly sales for the first time. BYD's success can be attributed to its diverse product portfolio, which includes a wide range of HEVs and EVs. This strategy has enabled the company to cater to a broader customer base, particularly those who are hesitant to fully embrace pure EVs due to range anxiety and charging infrastructure limitations. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, the competition between traditional automakers and EV pioneers is heating up. BYD's strong performance underscores the growing importance of HEVs in the global market, and it will be interesting to see how Tesla and other automakers respond to this changing landscape. #marketminis #EV #automotive #HEV

⚡Tesla starts strong with top two spots in Europe’s #EV market - Despite several European markets dropping or amending their incentive programmes, battery-electric vehicles (BEVS) started 2024 strong. - Registrations of these all-electric cars were up 29% year on year. Plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) also continued to grow, ending the month up 23% compared to January 2023. - Combining registrations of the two powertrains means the EV market sat at 198,993 deliveries in the month. Capturing 61% of Europe’s new plug-in market, BEVs started the year well ahead of PHEVs with 39%. - Looking at the overall market, BEV registrations made up 11.9% of all new-car deliveries in Europe, while PHEVs accounted for 7.7%. Outside of the EV market, full hybrids (HEVs) and mild hybrids (MHEVs) took a combined market share of 29.3%, up from nearly 27% last year. - This meant that 49% of all new cars registered in Europe at the start of the year featured some form of electrification. - Meanwhile, petrol was down to a 35.8% share from nearly 39% in January 2023, while diesel fell from 16% to 11.9% compared to 12 months ago. Should this rate of declining demand continue, diesel deliveries could end around 2027. - In January’s EV top 20, four out of five of the best-sellers were crossovers, highlighting the popularity of the vehicle type. Leading this charge was the Tesla Model Y with 11,425 registrations. In May, Europe’s electric vehicle (EV) market faced challenges, with a total of 226,178 battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) registered. This marked a 10% year-on-year decline, more significant than the 3% fall in the overall new-car market. BEVs alone accounted for 14% of deliveries, while PHEVs dropped by 10%. Interestingly, hybrids were the only powertrain to see registration growth, capturing 30% of the European new-car market. Meanwhile, registrations of petrol-powered vehicles fell by 6%, and diesel by 11%. The Tesla Model Y led EV sales in Europe, but it looks to have past its market peak. Registrations of electric #vehicles (EVs) climbed 19% year on year in August. Broken down, battery-electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries were up 6% compared to August 2023, reaching roughly one million units. Meanwhile, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sales jumped 51% to approximately half a million models. This illustrates the influence of the #Chinese market, where PHEVs and extended-range #electric vehicles (EREVs) are proving popular. Plug-in vehicles accounted for 22% of all new-car sales in August, with BEVs making up 14% alone. EVs made up 19% of the entire market in the first eight months of 2024, climbing 10 million units. All-electric models made up 12% alone, or 6.3 million units, up 10%. #tesla #byd #automotiveindustry #automotive #ev #phev #carmakers

The European electric vehicle (EV) market has finally seen growth for the first time since April! In September, 295,724 EVs were registered, marking a 6% year-on-year increase. This is significant, especially considering that overall new-car registrations dropped by 4% during the same period. Battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) were the main drivers of this growth, with deliveries rising by 14% to 212,640 units. However, plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) saw a decline of 9%, with 83,084 registrations. EVs captured a 26% market share in September, with BEVs alone making up 19% of total registrations. Only electrified powertrains saw an increase in volumes, with hybrids (HEVs) up by 12%, while petrol and diesel registrations declined by 19% and 24%, respectively. This shift led to HEVs overtaking petrol registrations for the first time, a trend likely to continue. In the first nine months of the year, 2.13 million plug-in vehicles were delivered, down 3% compared to the same period in 2023. Despite this, EVs recorded a 22% share from January to September, with BEVs making up 15% of the total new-car market. All-electric technology posted a 67% share of plug-in deliveries during this period, maintaining the same result as last year. Tesla continues to dominate the market, with the Model Y being the best-selling EV in Europe, posting 28,995 deliveries in September. The Model 3 also performed well, with 14,967 deliveries, tripling its result from 12 months ago. The Skoda Enyaq rounded out the top three with a record 10,085 registrations in September, marking its first five-digit monthly result.
